I do love my BodyBugg! I am diligent about logging every single thing I put in my mouth (which I have NEVER been able to stick with before.) I also keep a spreadsheet with daily calories burned vs. calories consumed and difference. I convert that difference into pounds lost (assuming 3500 calories=one pound.) That's how I track how much I "should" be losing vs. how much I am REALLY losing (via the scale.) Why yes, I am quite anal... It has really helped ME though because I do better with information. "Just because" doesn't motivate me. Good luck!!
