I am currently looking into this surgery due to comorbities that I have had for years and my inability to lower my BMI past obese. I was diagnosed with clinical depression and anxiety in 1994, hypertension around 1996, obstructive sleep apnea in 2006. Two years ago I trained for a year to complete 2 sprint and 2 mini triathlons but was not able to lose more than 15 lbs. I have gained that weight back and more. In the past 2 years I have had my gallbladder removed, surgery on my left foot and physical therapy due to the repetitive stress my weight is putting on my lower body. I have not been under 200 lbs in 15 years. I have participated in several structured diet and/or exercise plans with only partial and temporary results. I don't want to be fighting my weight the rest of my life and there to be less emphasis on food in my life. I am hoping to be approved to have the surgery before the end of 2010.
