I was very thin during my childhood and led an extremely active life. However, at 35, I never lost my baby fat from carrying my last child. That was over 18 years ago and I've very slowly kept adding every year. I've tried every diet that came around and yea, lost a few pounds, only to gain them right back(and usually a few more) after I went off the diet. When I really saw myself in my daughters high school graduation photos, I wanted to cry. ENOUGH! I have to DO something! I began researching my options. Settling on LAP Band surgery as my best alternative, only to find out that my insurance would not pay. I talked and emailed with many people about many different Doctors, but there was no way I could afford the prices that I was getting from the Dr. is the United States. Well, I had to find a way. I began to research the Dr.s in Mexico, It just so happened that about this same time frame a lady contacted off on of my Yahoo Groups (Bandsters) and she had gone to one of the Doctors in Mexico for the sleeve surgery. She had nothing but high praises for Dr. Zapata. So I checked him out. I felt very comfortable dealing with him and his coordinator, Alma. I took out a medical loan from my 401K. And I did it on August 24, 2010! As I write this, I'm enjoying my first taste of a "creamy" soup...LOL I've found a protein drink that I like and I'm now looking for help and support along my journey. I have about 100 pounds to lose and am looking forward to leaving my "baby fat" behind me.....LOL
