    July 2010, Weeks before surgery

From the album: A Journey in Progress...

Here I am at the fair with my family and it's horrible to look at now, but I almost did not fit in that fair ride.
  3. Yikes to so many weeks of just liquids. After my surgery I was on liquids for one week, and moved on to pureed foods, then the next week soft foods. You will notice a big weight change when you start with foods that have Protein in them verses just liquids. Best of luck to everyone!!
  4. Julie- I'd be frustrated as well only having that much in my band this far out. And whats the reasoning they only give you fills 6 months out? I have 7cc in a 10cc band and have had 4 fills already. I understand why they only do 1/2cc at a time, but I would have thought they'd want to do it more often than 6 months. Congrats on the 40 lbs though!!
  5. I got weighed right before surgery. I had my appt with the surgeon 10 days prior to surgery and was told if my weight was up on surgery day from the day I met with him, they would not do surgery. I guess thats one way to make sure you loose some weight between then and the date of surgery.

I can tell you the Vanilla Whey Protein Shake powder is nasty. I about lost it just by the smell of it.

    Tomorrow is the day

Best of Luck!! You will do just fine. Post when you can for an update.
  8. Hello! Hope I can join in on this board. I was banded 8/12/10. My starting weight was 240 lbs, and I'm sitting at 200 lbs right now. I hope to reach my goal of 160 by May right before my sisters wedding. I currently have 7cc in a 10cc band, but I'm going in tomorrow to have a little taken out. The fill I had last week was too much and I'm having a hard time getting cottage cheese to go down. Hope to chat with everyone on here!! -Tanya

Advice for Turning Failure into Success

My advice to you is, willpower! You have to be able to tell yourself you want to loose your weight. You want to do this for yourself to make yourself happy and healthy. The band is a tool, and only you know if it really is too tight and not letting you eat anything. But, if its not tight enough then of course you're going to continue to eat. Make yourself stay away from pop, fatty foods, etc. It's hard, I know it is. But if you're wanting to do this for yourself, you have to learn to say NO and force yourself to be strong in this journey. Best of luck to you!!!
