  1. Congrats!!! I was banded in August as well. Started at a size 22 and now in an 11. I love it!
  2. Hello Everyone. Thought I'd pop in and see how everyone was doing. I had my doctors visit yesterday and he told me the best thing ever. He said I only have about 10-15 more pounds to loose. He thinks I can accomplish this by my May appt which is towards the end of the month. I'm keeping my hopes up I can do this!!

    Jealous

    You are doing amazing!! I was banded a few weeks before you and am close to your weight loss with 63 lbs. You are doing just fine girl! My sister on the other hand is becoming jealous because I am getting closer to her size now.
  5. I am actually in the same boat. I have 20 lbs left to go and want to make sure I don't go below my goal weight or loose too much to look sick. Congrats on being close!!
  6. Is heartburn common with the band? I was banded August 2010, and never had any heartburn until yesterday and today. It's so bad I feel like I need to hold my chest. Anyone else have this?

    Holy Heartburn!?

    I actually called my doctor yesterday because it was so bad. I'd get instant heartburn after eating a bite of cereal or even taking a drink of water. He said it was too tight causing it so I had to go in and have 1/4cc removed. Still had some heartburn last night but not as bad as it was. I thought I was having a heartattack. Off to buy some Zantac now and have to take it daily.
  8. I have heard gallbladder issues are common after being banded. I had my gallbladder removed 3 weeks after I had my twins in 2007. Worst, worst pain ever! I thought I was having a heartattack.

    Scale Obsession

    I have a habit of weighing myself every morning. That way I know what I did the day before if I lost weight or if I gained. I'd only do the morning though, weighing yourself in the afternoon or evening is going to show a bigger number usually because of your drinking and eating throughout the day.
  11. I am at 7.25 cc in my band, I had 7.5 in it and had to have a little taken out because I couldn't keep anything down, or even get it to go down more like it. I feel better now, but I do feel hungry more it seems. I'm just trying to tell myself I'm really NOT hungry and to move on or have a glass of water instead.
  12. I hope everyone is having a great week!! I finally dropped 2 lbs since yesterday. I was starting to think the scale was stuck again.

  16. Awesome Job!!! You should be very proud of yourself I am 6 months out after surgery and down 57 pounds. I feels amazing!
  17. First, pineapple juice if you have something stuck. It helps make the food pass and really moistens it up to help it go down. I usualy do liquids for 24 hours after somethings stuck if I still have some pain from it. Otherwise I try to eat but that doesnt always work either.

    NOT WORKING!

    It's hard turning down Junk food at times for me as well, but I've learned that if I really want this tool (band) to help me, I have to put an effort into it as well. So I've quit eating the junk or if I Have any its very very rare. Cut the pop, drink more Water, exercise alot, and really watch what I eat and portion control. It has its ups and downs thats for sure. I've become hooked to my scale. I weigh each morning and if I go up I know what I did the day before that I should not have done. If it goes down I know what I did and keep doing it. Best Of Luck!!!

  21. Hello!! I better do an update here since I'm 6 months post surgery now (Aug 12) Started at 243 lbs and currently at 187. I have 27 lbs to go to get to my goal! I hope I can do it by May 1st since my sister is getting married May 14th. I need to figure out how to update my ticker. Any help is appreciated!
  22. I've seen a cookbook out there somewhere that was made just for banders. It has all lapband friendly meals in it and I'm trying to find it. Anyone know of one?
