  1. Feel too knackered to exercise. Struggling to even take dog for a walk some days. I am not sure whether I am disappointed with myself or my band. I guess I was expecting a bit too much. Is your port site still sore?
  2. I sympathise. I also have zero restriction and can eat whatever I like. My first fill is on the 8th November and I can't wait. I am too scared to get on the scales incase I have put on weight. Its just too easy to eat - not what I expected
  3. Wow! This is fascinating to read. I haven't had a fill yet, but can eat anything. I haven't pb'd, slimed, vomited at all. It sounds horrific. I don't even have to chew particularly well. I'll see what happens after my first fill :w00t:
  4. I am 3 weeks post op. All going well until I started getting a sharp tearing pain below my port on the left side of my abdomen. Its fine if I sit or lie down but if I walk its agony and makes me double up in pain. Have been to docs and was told it could be kidney stones or diverticulitis. My urine also showed signs of infection. I have spoken to my surgeon and he doesn't think it is a problem with the port but I'm not so sure. Its just too close and too much of a coincidence. Anyone else had any problems like this. It feels like something is ripping inside me. Many thanks

    Anyone Else Had This Problem

Wow! thats impressive. There is no way I would dare to exercise at the minute. Thing is, the pain only started 2.5 weeks after the surgery so I just don't understand it. I have got 2 lots of antibiotics to take so will see how it goes. Thanks for all your replies.
  6. 'Mrs Palmer and her 5 daughters.' What a fantastic saying. Never heard that one before :smile2:

    No restriction. Whatsoever.

I too have no restriction. Have not vomited, pb'd, slimed etc. Everything goes down fine. I just eat less of it cause I get full quicker. I have no fill in my band yet and am 2.5 weeks post op. Went to see doc today and he said I probably won't lose any more weight until I have a fill which will be 6 weeks post op.
  8. Yesterday I ate a Mcdonalds fillet of fish burger and today a slice of pizza. WTF am I doing? (It all went down fine btw). Anyone else being as stupid or am I just a lost cause?

2 Weeks Post Surgery and ...

Thank you my friends. Today is a new day. A lot of what you said has made lots of sense. There will be times when I fall off the wagon, but I must get back on and not dwell on the mistakes I have made. I have spent the last 30 years making poor food choices and a miracle is not going to happen overnight. I just hope that they get less and less and my band will help me when I get it wrong. I really appreciate the time you have taken to respond to a complete stranger. Good luck to everyone and hopefully I will be able to help someone along the way soon.

2 Weeks Post Surgery and ...

WOW!! HARSH!!! I feel so much better for that. Thanks  So do you consider 1 fish burger for dinner 1 day and 1 slice of pizza for dinner the next overeating? I was more concerned with the fact that I can get these types of food down fine so early than with the amount.

2 Weeks Post Surgery and ...

Thanks for all your replies. I guess if I look at it positively, before my band I would have eaten the fish burger, fries, coke and a flurry. I would have then picked for the rest of the evening. The burger itself filled me up and I didn't need anything else until morning. I just can't figure out why I can get normal food down fine when some people are still struggling with liquids. 2 weeks post op is still really early.
  12. September Bandsters!

Me too. Mainly under the port incision. It stops me dead in my tracks and I can't move. Is anyone else constipated. It will be a week tomorrow :smile2:
  14. Hi everyone. Thanks for all your replies. Was thinking about ringing doc today but might leave it a few days as its seems I'm not the only one having the problem. Will let you know how it goes. Is anyone else hungry? I sat in the cafe yesterday while kids were at the beach and the smell of bacon was driving me insane. I am now wondering if I have done the right thing. It really is torture.
  15. I also have it. I was banded on the 23rd of this month. It is painful if I take try to take deep breaths and it also hurts around the top of my back, all the way around my lungs. I thought I might ring the clinic tomorrow if it wasn't any better. May be it is just gas - I hope so. Let me know how you go over the next couple of days.
  16. Hi everyone Just wondered if anyone else is having trouble taking deep breaths. It is very painful if I yawn and try to breath deeply. The pain radiates around my ribs and my back.. Didn't know if it is just gas or problem with my lungs. Any advice appreciated please. Thanks
  17. Hi Brenda. I was banded the day after you and have a lot of pain around my chest and back. It hurts when I take a deep breath or cough or yawn. I also seem to have quite a lot of fluid in my lungs. The worst incision site is the port. I would say pain is about 5 at the moment and I am taking pain killers. If I don't move I feel fine but if I take that deep breath, its not nice. Good luck on your recovery x

    September Bandsters!

Hi everyone. I was banded yesterday (23rd) so am still quite sore and taking pain meds. Cant make out whether my stomach is grumbling from hunger or whether its gas. I am on liquids for 2 weeks, but can have pretty much whatever I like including tea and coffee. Nice to meet you all.
  19. Well I am all done. Sitting in hospital bed the morning after. Pain bit of a nuisance. Feel like I want to do the biggest fart of my life but it won't happen lol. Also finding it difficult to take deep breaths. Good luck to everyone else this week. You will get thru it just fine. Xx
  20. Well its just gone 6am here and I am about to leave for hospital. I guess I will be the first of the 23 September crew as I am in Sydney. Good luck to everyone today and I will post back tomorrow. xx
  21. Dont blame you lol. I am on Optifast shakes for a week. However, I have stopped them for a bit now. Had to have a piece of dry toast as stomach felt very empty. Daren't have another shake as don't want to make a mess on the operating table (TMI lol). What we have to go through eh! Good luck for Thursday.
  22. Hi. I am the 23rd as well. Have got very upset stomach. Not sure whether its Optifast, nerves or bug. Hope its better by Thursday.

lapband drama... yes i'm a cheater

I too am a cheater. I am supposed to be on Optifast for a week. I lasted 2 days. My mind is now in 'eat what you can before its too late' mode. How sad is that? I am being banded in 3 days. Its not a good start but I guess if I could stick to a diet, I wouldn't need a band. It sounds like you have been a lot better than me. Don't beat yourself up about it. When you get your band things will change. Good luck to you.
  24. OMG - 1 week to go. I think it has just hit me. Now I am panicking. Just had confirmation from my insurance company so think that is what triggered the sudden anxiety. What a rollercoaster ride this journey is.
