I have struggled with my weight since high school. I have had 4 children, and am currently at my heaviest. This is something that I have thought about for a very long time. In November of 2009, I fell and was injured. I have a sprained knee & multiple herniated discs in my neck and lower spine. I have been in physical therspy for 10 months, and had numerous out-patient procedures on my knee and back. Although I had never had problems with my knee and back before I fell, I do have them now and I am not getting any better. The weight is not helping and it is time for a change. I am also becoming paranoid....if I have a pain in my arm it is a heart attack....if I am overly thirsty it is type 2 Diabetes! I don't want to live like this anymore. At my lowest weight I have made it to 135 lbs. This was with the help of phentermine. This is not a route I want to take anymore. I see this as a lifestyle change that will make my quality of life much better, and I will finally feel better about the way I look. I went for my first consultation in February 2010. I have done all my visits with my nutritionist and have undergone my psychological evaluation. I see my PCP on September 1st and my final appointment with my surgeon is on Septeber 7th. Hopefully CIGNA will approve me right away & I will be on my way by the end of September or beginning of October. I look forward to this new chapter in my life!
