  4. Hi Lady, haven't heard from you, just checking to see how you are doing

  5. Thanks KCG, I'm definitely going to think now before I put anything into my mouth! And I've only been drinking liquids today...scared to even eat pureed right now. Maybe in a couple of days.
  6. Thank you Zeniada and Kerimhann! I'm feeling better now, both physically and mentally.
  7. I did a very bad thing. I am 18 days post-op (about 2.5 weeks since my surgery) and I am supposed to be in the pureed food/mushy stage. Last night was my late father's birthday, so we had a cake in his honour. I stayed away from it, but then I got distracted and ended up eating 8 bites....and it got stuck! It was a horrible feeling, like I couldn't breathe. Reading other threads in this forum, I understand that it's my fault for not following the post-op diet, will power, etc. I'm not sure if the food has passed though, and if it's possible that I've damaged the pouch in any way. I did not vomit or PB, I walked around and drank some pineapple juice. This morning, I drank some Soup and more pineapple juice. liquids are going down okay, but I feel tenderness from my throat to my chest area. I am not in pain, and I don't see my doctor again for another few weeks. Not sure if this is worth going to the hospital for?

    CIBO Clinic (toronto)

I am getting my lapband done at CIBO. It's quite expensive ($18,000) and there's no subsidization at all. I researched the product, but not the various clinics offering them in Toronto. At the time I was very desperate and my doctor referred me to them. My other option was to wait for OHIP to cover gastric bypass surgery, but that procedure seems a lot scarier to me. My dealings with everyone have been pleasant enough so far. Everyone has been professional and somewhat caring. The total cost also covers support from an on-site psychiatrist, chiropractor, physiotherapist and nutritionist. The cost also covers unlimited fills and band adjustments. CIBO clinic may not be for everyone, and but I'm crossing my fingers that it's the right choice for me. I will post updates about my progress and my experiences with them in my forum blog.
  13. Hope all goes well tomorrow, you will be in my prayers.
