I'm 16 and turning 17 on Halloween...I have an appt. on Sept. 30th with my doctor about getting banded. I really need the surgery and i just want to know how old you usually have to before you get banded. And also: What's the deal with the insurance company and the whole age thing? And...whats the process of actually doing the surgery...For example, how long do you have to wait until you can do it and what you have to do before the surgery...(appointments...tests...) Sorry if it doesn't make any sense...lol:blush:

Hey Kiersty! Congrats on getting your surgery soon. I wish i was getting mines that soon. And btw, 19 is my lucky number. :biggrin: Andy Penguins...thanks for the advice. I wish i had a high tolerance for pain. I cry at getting a paper cut. lol. And you said it took your insurance three times before you were approved...did you have to wait long? And what was the process?

I'll talk =] I'm Latti and im not banded yet. I'm supposed to meet with the surgeon September 30th and i hope my insurance approves me. I'm 16 turning 17 on October 31 and i weigh 370. My BMI is over 40 and my doctor says I really need it. Since some of you guys already got it, i'll like to know things about it. Like does it hurt and do it really help you lose weight personally?
