Hello. I am 31 and never thought i would be "desperate" enough to consider surgery. In the last 6 months, I have started thinking that it might be the only way I can ever get down to a healthy weight. I watched my grandfather die at age 60 with advanced diabetes, after multiple heart attacks. I now watch my mom struggle with her diabetes. My sister just got diagnosed as diabetic. I am heavier than all. So far, I have been lucky, and all of my numbers are within normal limits, but I know that eventually, it will be an issue.
