BANDED ON MONDAY - 5 INCISIONS

yea the rumblings are def not pretty at all. it seems to get stuck in the left shoulder in my back and it gets stuck in the center of my belly....i wanna move a round more freely but that will happen in due time i guess. i thought id never get this done and here we are its done...lol i am eating mushies so just had homemade chkn Soup and for Breakfast had a chobani yogurt in vanilla. i guess later i will have some Jello or something. is it bad if you eat inbetween meals? you look great!!!! honestly i don't care that it sticks out, but can u notice it with something that your wearing that may be a little snug on you.. i mean i dont know about wearing a bikini but like does it bother you wearing a bra?
  4. So tomorrow is the Banding date. YIKES!!!! lol, i am nervous but not thinking about it but i am also excited...so the excitement outweighs the nerves. i am just mostly worried about the unknown part of the surgery and the afterwards affects. eventhough we had to take a class at the hospital as the hospital has a bariatric center, it was very interesting. the nurse admin walked us thru the day from the moment we arrive to the moment we go home. i just wonder how the meals are going to be. i pretty much loaded myself on anything i could think of prior to tomorrow...lol..we are only on 1 day preop preparation and on clear fluids. its been hard knowing i can't eat anything and can just imagine those that were on the preop diet for weeks prior to surgery. i feel for you guys. well i look forward to the new me and making new friends on here. i am sure we will become very friendly in the near future. wishing you all the best....
  5. Well the time has come and i am being banded tomorrow. I have lots of worries and fears especially what to eat after. The doctor said mushies would be ok by Tuesday in the afternoon if all GOD WILLING goes well. So i have bought chobani yogurts, cottage cheese with the fruit in it, ricotta, i have my pro-stat 64 drink ready to be used, Jello, and sugar free pops, and everything i bought is mostly sugar free. but i feel like i am limited to that stuff oh and of course Soups...i guess you can have cream based but i haven't bought any creamed based. i will stay away from that for a while. but any other suggestions meal wise??? so nervous that i will just come home and have ice cream shakes Breakfast lunch and dinner.
  6. Well Congrats to the whole new you! I am being banded tomorrow and its sort of making me nervous. i guess its expected. please keep in touch. i am so nervous about what to eat after the surgery

One week away and extreme anxiety

Hey everyone: I am just as nervous...My surgery is scheduled for 11/30 and i have extreme anxiety...biggest fear of the anesthesia as well...and just hoping to wake up from the surgery....lol....its scary that they throw that 1% out at you, but you think about it...i know its mind over matter...but everything will be ok...i think the fear is "the unknown" mostly...and the what ifs...and as one of the other banders said, if we worried about the what ifs, we would never do anything like have children or get married...i am also a bit nervous because i can't have the single incision, so for me it is going to be the 5 incisions...i have a slight bleeding disorder and that makes me even more nervous.... but we are here for each other, and need the support....i can't wait for after the surgery and just to be done with it and move forward with a NEW LIFE....that is what I invision...the NEW ME.....so the bad is outwieghed from the GOOD....and can't wait to wear a pair of jeans and actually smile about the outfit that i am wearing and being confident...i hate the fact of pulling the shirts down over my ass, and wearing bigger shirts so that it hides my hips and ass too,...lol...i can't wait...but i am still nervous...i won't deny it, but will get over it.... please keep in touch everyone! xo
  11. i'm on long island and have seen all my doctors and just need to wait now for my next appt. I hope all goes well and get this scheduled soon..when you say 4 more months of doctors visits, do you mean being weighed in?

    Smoking... I know I know.

I as well have stopped smoking but for me it has been only 5 days..lol...its pretty cold turkey of me but i do have the nicotrol device on hand when i need it...i as well feel the anxiety and the cravings, but its truly mind over matter..i just realized that i had dinner about an hour ago and i didn't have a craving for a smoke... i am in the process of getting all my dr visits in prior to my 2nd appt so that my surgery can be scheduled. i am nervous about the whole thing. to be honest i was more nervous that the dr told me i had to quit smoking or i wouldn't be able to have the surgery and i freaked. i said how in the world could i possible do this..but i wanted to be banded and wanted to be healthy and fit so i did it....we can do this together....we can save the money, live longer and healthier lives as well in the process...i dont know you, but i have faith in you...
  13. Hey Everyone! I am new to this site and just recently had my first consult with surgeon. I have been given all the paperwork or really checklist of physicians that need to be seen prior to getting a letter sent to GHI. At first my i was scared when i left his office only because this is a huge decision that i am making, and was thinking of having the single incision lap band. Of course I smoke, which makes it more difficult for me. I guess i am more stressed knowing that i have to quit or no surgery and that made me more intense. I have already seen the endocrinologist and cardiologist, have a pulmonary visit tomorrow. My insurance doesnt cover the nutrionist so that will be an out of pocket expense, but its ok because i have to do this. I am 5 ft tall and have gained over 85 lbs in the last 3 years alone. I can barely make it up the stairs, i have atrial fibrillation, which is a heart arrythmia, and I just wanna be able to play ball and run around with my 9 year old son. i can't wear jeans because my waste is tiny and behind is plump, lol. I have to be healthy for me and for him. i hear such great stories on here but of course with any surgeries its a bit scary. we have to take the bad with the good i guess. if we want to be healthy we gotta do what we have to do. has anyone here smoked prior to surgery and if so what did you have to do to quit? i am also worried a bit about the eating, and the gas pains that i have read about. i don't have a gallbladder so i guess its no worse than that...i hope not..lol.. i am hoping for an october date, but we will see. i am trying to get all my md appts done within the next week and then will submit everything to surgeon for submission to insurance? does anyone have GHI? im curious as to how much time to take off from work, maybe 2-3 weeks, does that sound reasonable? geez so many questions..lol please keep in touch everyone! ladies and gents i wish you all the best of luck with your surgeries and post surgeries.
