I would advise staying on top of the pain, take the meds ON time everytime, and ask the nurses for them if they forget.... I let it go once and was in bad pain ( I'm also a wimp ) and don't be afraid to ask for more if you are still hurting. I got the WORSE nurse.... she was a total B^#$&! And i had to ask for things 2 or 3x. If that happens, ask for someone else... Gas X is a MUST... you will feel shoulder and chest pain and pressure due to gas.... I bought the strips you put on your tongue. WALK!- If they ask you, get up and walk a little- it helps! BEST OF LUCK!

I have Aetna and normally they pay 80%, but for lapband they covered the "placement" at 100%. However i had other bills as well 6 months worth of visits , About $30.00 each 180.00 My mental health visit , 33.00 Dietitian , 50.00 ( Which was actually returned to me , not sure why... but i got the money back about 2 months later ) Pre op testing , Ekg. Bp... ( ect.) 35.00 Anesthesiologist ( Most expensive ) 500.00 ( But i got it lowered to 350.00) Total $648.00 +/- We have REALLY good insurance. I was lucky. Make sure you know your deductable, mine was 500.00 which i had already met. If i hadn't, then i would have had to pay 500.00.

Best of luck! I would deff suggest losing weight first! I lost about 50 pounds ( My first small goal) I really need to lose another 50-75. With the weight loss, you should have success!! I noticed i started to ovualte ( I used the ovulation tests )

I was only banded for 6 months when i got pregnant & had lost about 50 pounds. I haven't really gained any weight yet ( I'm currently 20 weeks. ) I was very very sick and still am. I noticed I had a TON of trouble actually throwing up,I would gag but nothing would come up. My lapband doctor removed all my fluid, but i still have trouble. Overall my pregnancy is going good! CONGRATS!! I live in MO also... Where are you located ?

Are they covering it? Or are you going to have to pay for it? I had the same question, i have aetna as well. I live in MO.
