I was diagnosed with diabetes.  I swore that would never happen to me.  My sister died from diabetes when she was 4 years older than I am now.  I really didn't recognize how fat I had become.  I was always tall and athletic so the scale didn't bother me too much.  I have a loving husband and sons who love me despite my size.  I am good at dieting but terrible at keeping it off.  I want the Lapband to keep me on track during the giving up patches that have plagued my weight loss efforts.  I am committed to losing and keeping the weight off.
