  1. Hi Everyone, I was banded at TLBC on Nov 17, 2006. I've lost 16lbs so far. I hope to share with everyone their experience and helpful hints for my journey. Is anyone going to the Holiday Cocktail party at TLBC on the 15th? Susan

Wow, Thanks for all the info. I guess the key is to chew and eat slowly, which had been my downfall for years. Because of my work, we eat on on feet in between clients wofing down what food we find in our back office. But that is all going to change now!!!! I'm leaving for Florida on the 18th, so I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday. Best Regards, Susan

Hi Everyone, I got banded on Nov 17th this year. The first week after the procedure was really bad for me emotionally. First off, my Dad passed away Oct 31. I thought I was ok so I did not reschedule my appointment. I probably should have. I guess because of this new beginning with a band around my stomach, not eating normal food compounded with the grief of my dad's passing. I was a wreck. I wanted the band out. But with the support of my husband and friends, thank God I'm fine now. I've lost about 17 lbs now and I started my pureed diet today, yummy... Can someone out there share their experience when they started solids? Did you feel anything different? I'm freaking out not knowing what to expect. And I don't want to throw up or have that feeling of food getting stuck. Susan

Hi Paloma, What diet did the doctor put you on to shrink your liver? Susan
  5. Hi Everybody, I've been banded since November 17, 2006, at the Toronto LapBand centre. My doctor was Dr Joffe. I've lost 16lbs to date and still have 35lbs to go. The decision to get banded came when I reached that point in my life where I was sick and tired of losing the weight and gaining it back within a year or so. This was going on for the last 20 years. My aunt got banded last year and that's when I started my research. I weight 180 lbs, and my bmi was indicating that I was considered obese. With my family history, of cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, knee replacements and hip replacements, I thought to myself THAT'S IT!!!!!!! I must admit when I first got banded the first week was rough emotionally. I had huge regrets. However, with the concouragement of others I'm fine now. I look forward to talking to everyone on this forum(first time) and share experiences. Susan

Hi Melissa, I'm new to this site and first time user of any such forum. I hope I'm doing this right. I was banded Nov. 17/06. The first week was rough. Not because of the pain. Thank God I did not suffer with that, but I had thoughts of regret. I wanted it out. But as the week passed, I feel better and lost so far 16 lbs. I was banded by Dr. Joffe at the toronto Lapband centre. I'm on my third week of full Fluid diet, can't wait for my 4th and 5th week of pureed foods. Let me know how you are doing. God luck, Susan
