that's great news! I have been feeling quite tight myself...but it feels like it is loosening up..and I wanted to ride it out also.
-
Thanks Julie. I think I was a little too tight, that was why I was craving food so much, I just wasn't getting enough to eat. It feels like it is loosening up a bit. thanks again!

I don't know what is wrong with me this week. I can't stop thinking about food, wanting food, etc. It's constantly on my mind. I hope it's just a bad week. I recently had another fill and I'm pretty tight, so any excess food will cause PB'ing...which I have been doing almost on a daily basis. HELP! I feel like I am going to blow it if I don't get a handle on this.
-
Since this change started after your fill, I would guess they will want to remove a tiny amount. From what I have read, and this happens to me, your body makes the mucous getting yourself ready to PB. Seeing you are not eating anything there is NOTHING to come up. I think you need an unfill.....You should be able to hold down liquids...I am afraid you will become dehyrated. Oh, BTW, congrats. on your HUGE weight loss...you are doing FANTASTIC!!!!. Good Work.

tifferoni, I just noticed..what a great weight loss! Congrats. Have you been excersicing?

Hi Peaches, I would try to avoid it as much as possible. I am not perfect, that is for sure. I have had my share of wine and the effects hit you really, really fast. If I do have a little wine, I add diet gingerale and mix it 4 parts gingerale 1 part wine and enjoy a nice glass, but I stir off the bubbles because of the carbination and this is only on occasion and much less frequently. Honestly, alcohol does not fit into the healthy lifestyle we all need to adhere to with the band. Caffeine and alcohol....BAD for us! I worry about the future of my band down the line years from now and am trying harder to really, really eat healthy. I don't want future erosions and other complications that can happen with not following the band rules.

I don't know about "issues" causing my obesity. Like others said, we all have issues. My husband has issues and he is thin. I think the big picture here is that once you start putting the weight on...it is hard as HELL to take it off...and it just gets beyond our control

Gosh, I was doing some funny stuff to my food at the Thanksgiving table, like just "pick" little pieces off my roll...things like that. I wonder if anyone noticed. I have not told my in-laws.

Made it thru my 1st banded Thanksgiving!!!
maryrose replied to mbanja's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mbanja, Great thread. I made it yest. too. Was really nervous, as I have not told my in-laws. I feel really, really good about it because a few hours after the dinner I realized I did not miss dessert at all! I think the fear of getting sick when I got out really helps me limit my food intake. A strange thing though...My daughter told me I looked nice (of course she knows), but NOTHING..I mean NOTHING...from my inlaws regarding my 50+ lb. weight loss. Wouldn't you think someone would notice? Could that much of a weight loss go unnoticed???? -
Went to Dermatologist for the hair loss and...
maryrose replied to kacee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The hair loss does slow down. I have been using Rogaine pretty much from the beginning and am very happy with this product. I buy the CVS brand. I was a little nervous about using this, as I was worried what would happen if I stopped using it, but you can't worry about everything. If I were younger (I am 53) I may be hesitant and wait it out, but I am glad I started using it. I find the hair loss for me happens in stages it will wax and wane depending on how much weight I am losing. When I am having a good weight loss month, my hair suffers. -
Littlelove, It does take time, but this habit does change. I find myself nibbling on my food now and I am self conscious actually around other people when I am eating, wondering if they notice. I have not told many people. Thanksgiving should be interesting at the in-laws!

When did you start to notice excess skin from your weight loss. I have lost about 50 lbs. and not sure if my belly is more fat or skin???....It's definitely hanging more. I'm sorry if this seems like a weird question :cry I wonder how much the excess skin weighs???
-
Oh gosh, Dare I ever eat in public again?....lol. I was just actually eating a hard boiled egg in a most peculiar way and made me wonder if anyone else does weird stuff like this now? The weirdest thing I do now is peel the top layer off my syrian bread pizza. Please.....don't let me be alone!

Musical mamma, I know the feeling! I coud have written that post. I am right where you are right now. I hate not having a nice proper pair of pants to wear that good good on me without bagging out in the rear with the X1 or showing everything I own with the Xl. I was just thinking this morning that I cannot wait til I fit into an extra large.

Metalband, you made me laugh out loud commenting on your choice of Pb's over having and "accident"....lol. Yummie, I wonder if where using the band and not eating as much to begin with, maybe the alli would not be as unpleasant. How much fat were these people taking in when they had these "episodes". I actually had the bottle in my hands the other day, but decided to see if there was anything on this site about it. I think I'll wait it out for now, but it's still on the backburner for me too.
-
Yummie, If you are in a position where it is convienient for you, then I say give it a try. I would think if it were that horrible, it would not stay on the market. I mean PB'ing is downright gross too! Maybe not as gross as these Alli scenarios, but who knows.

My doc said a few weeks back 40% in the first six months. He said the good thing though is that after that point patients "continue" to lose, which is a good thing. I agree with the comment that we seem to out-number that percentage in that we are utilizing this site and all the information out there to be successful.

Do you think people know when the make NO comment at all?
maryrose posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
:cryThis probbly sounds like a silly question, but I have pretty much kept this a secret. Only a very few people know about my surgery. The thing is, I have lost over 50 lbs. and I kind of notice the "allover look" from people and then NO COMMENT. This kind of gives me the feeling they found out about my surgery and are not saying anything. Am I being paranoid. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I'm sorry if this seems like a weird question...lol....but I got that "look" last week by a co-worker..and she made no comment at all on my weight loss. I have not seen this person for a very long time, and you would think she would have said something! :cry -

Thanks for the replies! I think I am just paranoid. I work in a medical facility and had my surgery at their affiliate hospital. Wondered if the word filtered through and they are not saying anything because of confidentiality reasons. Thanks for all the input. They have always commented in the past when I lost even a little amount of weight, so I just thought this was a bit bizarre. -
Thought I would ask what is most helpful in this journey right now. Hopefully, I can find some insight! It changes every week for me, It seems, but lately I have been having a slice of toast with p. butter in the AM...this takes me quite some time to eat and has a lot less calories than the oatmeal and the milk. I started losing again..yipeee...

What is helping you succeed right now?
maryrose replied to maryrose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Audree...Wow...I am impressed. I am definitely going to look into that supplement. I have been wondering about maybe taking one, but really was not sure which one and how safe they were or if they even work. Thanks Audree. -
Wow...I am really impressed! I didn't think the inches stayed off! 22 inches is a heck of a lot. I will have to look into this some more. I would ask them to go easy around the port site..that's for sure.
