Hey JeninCO, I thought I was the only one that felt that way. It may be mti for most folks but not us. We see life in a whole new way. I wonder how many Jennifer's we now have? I'll have to count. -
Hello Tiggeriffic: So I see we are neighbors. I hope you're up and moving, keeping the gas from moving around. I didn't expereience gas until yesterday. But it is nothing like what others are complaining about. Have you read the April 2007, Head Start on Spring thread? If you haven't you should. Lots of support there. Tell me about New Start what type of program do they have?

Krystal, My name is Jennifer and I live in North County/Spanish Lake area. I was banded last Friday 13th at DePaul Hospital. At Depaul there is a support group that meets every 1 and 3 Wednesday at 5:30-7:00. Most of the participants are RNY but there are a few of us there and many are doing quite well. They are talking about splitting the group in 2 because bandies have different needs than RNY but we all have the same goal of being successful. I'll be there this evening, maybe you can come and join us. The on-line forum is awesome. I find most of my support on "April 2007, Head Start on Spring". This is a thread where everyone has or will be banded this month. Since you are starting out fresh won't you join us there and encourage you. There is lots of support on this forum. We have become like family. Here nobody judges you and you will not be alone in this life changing journey. We are from all walks of life and from all over the world.

I didn't have to do a pre-op diet but did one anyway. I wanted to get a headstart on what protein shakes i liked. It worked well for me. I had two a day and a light meal. I also stayed in the hospital overnight. My insurance only paid 100% if I stayed. If I didn't stay they would have only paid 75-80%. You'll do fine. My girlfriend dropped me off and stayed until they took me to surgery. A nother girlfriend came to see me and my DH called. Never showed up to see about me. Another friend came just as I was sitting in the lobby waiting for a friend to pick me up and he just came over to the house to bring flowers from him and his family. My DH is indifferent but I' not letting him slow me down. Hopefully this time next year I'll be down 100 lbs looking good and happier with my self!:clap2: Keep yourself busy this week. I made chicken broth, put in 2 cup containers and froze them. The chicken that was left, I shreded and put in 4 oz containers and froze them also. Here is my recipe. 1 whole chicken, celery, onion, garlic, carrots and leeks covered in water and simmered until chicken was done. (I use a presser cooker) Strain the broth and season to taste. -

Oh, I forgot!! I'm not going to do the charms. My doctor suggested that his patients all wear a medical alert ID in case of an emergency and they have to tube us they won't puncture our pouch. So he gave us a card for Lauren's Hope www.laurenshope.com and they have wonder bracelets for your ID so that it will match your outfits. (I love to coordinate). -

I use one too and I take it everywhere when I travel. I won't even take a nap without it! My sleep is so sweet with it. :notagree Go for the restful sleep. You'll need it to recover. I never leave home without it. -

Now, I need to find a Gym with EARLY and LATE hours (and hopefully a shower!) that's close to home and safe for me to go to alone. We have no room in our house - I am a packrat, and hubby is too....baaaaaaaaaaaad combo. So even though I have a Gazelle exerciser, i have no room for it. So i'm going to break down and find a gym....preferably one i can do a month by month membership. See, in the summers at my job, we get REALLY busy and i'll work from 6am - 7 or sometimes 8 pm, so I don't want to pay for months that i know i won't be able to get in there when they're open. I'll just have to look around this weekend. ... Panda Check with some of your local hospitals. One less than 5 min from my home has a fitness center which is open 24 hrs and cost $54.00 for 3 months. They give you a key card and you can go in anytime you want. After hours you have to go through Emergency and walk through the hospital but it's worth it. They also have a personal trainer there during the day that helps you to set up a program just for you. Thatmight be a good option if your hospital has one. -

Hang in there Tracy. All these things will take care of themselves they always do. I am a worrier and worry about EVERYTHING! But I'm learning if I cant' do anything about it just let it go. Breath, and let it go. One big thing I learned in the past few months, really right after my physc eval, is that my dh is my trigger. How about that, after 17 yrs of marriage he is the one that sets me off more than anything else. Last month I came home from work with a new motto; "NO MORE CRAP!" :heh: I walked in, sat down and announced that I was tired and that I not taking any more crap from him, the cats or anyone else and then asked him about his day. I did the same thing for sveral days and guess what!?! Less crap! I went to work and announced the same thing. Now when I get that look, at work everyone looks at me and say I know, no more crap and even my dh letup with all the stress he causes me. I just give the look and he knows. Life has become easier. He may or may not be going with me on Friday or pick me up from the hospital and I'm okay with that as long as he and everyone else who has negative energy just keep it to themselves. Now all I have to say is I'm not have'n it!!! I don't have children so I don't know how it might work but I'm sure you'll find a way. Just don't stress, that's what gotten most of us in the shape we are in. I have to remind myself of this everyday. I'm bust'n loose from all bad habits including anything that continues to trigger me. Do what you can and let the rest go, just breathe. lol:girl_hug: -
BOY, YOU ARE A BUSY LADY! NO MATTER WHERE I GO ON THIS FORUM I SEE YOU THERE ENCOURAGING EVERYONE TO BE STRONG. :clap2:

Wow, I'm impressed. I was just reading through this thread and saw your stats and they are great :clap2: I hope I can be as successful as you!!

I just love reading everyone' post. I had to take a stress test yesterday, this is the final test before surgery. I hate them. So I'm sitting in the chair and the meds are going in that makes your heart race as if you are actually running the Boston marathon, my heart racing, I'm getting winded and I feel as if "m going to :faint: . The blood pressure cup is going and is getting tighter and tighter and if feels like it's cutting off my circulation, my arm is getting numb. It relaxes and then starts again. There are 3 techs in the room and they are all looking at each other and I go "WHAT"? I know something is wrong. They all say "nothing". (Yeah right!) Then they tell me that the reading is just a little high... Then they bring in a different maching and it starts all over again. This time they can't get my BP. Now I'm getting worried, first its to high and now they can't find it. I must be stroking out or something and I'm praying :help: . Then they tell me it's not me but the equipment, my BP is fine. Next they have to take pictures of my heart and I have to sit in this chair that rotates as they scan my heart, lungs and kidneys. No prob. I'm still hooked to a EKG machine and it's keeping track of my heart beat and it beeps. So I'm sittting there very still and it's beeping ...Beep .................Beep...................Beep, then all of a sudden it starts Beeping ....Beep...Beep,beep,beepbeeping all over the place. Now I'm think it didn't beep like this when the older lady sas doing it and now is beeping like crazy with me. I KNOW I'M HAVEING A HEART ATTACK!!! Okay now, I tell myself calm down breathe, think happy thoughts, then I start praying please don't let me die, PLEASE! I don't want to go out like this!!!!!! The machine is going crazy, I'm losing it and know one is checking on me!!! I'm sure I dying. THEN the tech comes in and asked what's going on? I'm thinking your asking me, HELLO, I'M DYING HERE!!! He walks over and presses on one of the ekg leads and said, oh it must be loose, fixes it and leaves the room. Now I'm relieved and Pissed at the same time. I had to redo the test again. Funny huh!?! Wasn't when it was happening but I can laugh now. Everything is okay and I can get my band as scheduled on the 13th. YEAH ME:clap2: :clap2:
