I'm sorry some of you are not getting the support you deserve from your DH's. That breaks my heart. I am quite sure they don't understand a damn thing about what it's like to be us. I wish you girls the very best luck of all and I hope that our support is enough for you for now. We all understand everything. Thanks Terry! In my pre-op class today someone told me I was beautiful and for what-ever reason I was embarrassed. I guess I just don't think of myself that way. But it sure made me feel real good!

Becky, I'm excited for you!!!:clap2: I had to have a psych evaluation also. They just want to make sure that you are doing this for yourself and are stable enought to take care of yourself andfollow instructions. I had to fill out a lo-o-o-ong worksheet some of the quetions were asked several times but rephrased I guess to see if you answer the same. I was also give several task to complete at home. The task really helped me to face my stress triggers and showed me the proper ways to respond to them and not use food. Jennifer

Thanks Angie!!! I had my pre=op class today from 8:30- 4:30 med the dr, nurses etc. Had ekg, x-ray and blood work done. Now I required to do a stress test before the 13th. My surgery is at 12:30, then I'm on my way :clap2: My husband didn't say anything when I got home, but then I didn't expect him to. no prob. I have one friend taking be to the hospital and another picking me up. In class we where given a shopping list for groceries and got everything I need. Right now I can smell the chicken broth I'm making in my pressure cooker and I freeze it. for later. No pre-op diet :cheer2: Jennifer

Thanks for the encouragement!!! I feel better now. Went out in the sun and for a drive. I think the start of this all is because I didn't tell my husband about my surgery until Tuesday. He smirked and rolled his eyes, asked how much it cost and nothing else has been said. I don't expect any support from him but I have several wonderful friends that are there for me and will take care of me if I need them. I have to succeed at this if I don't want to hear his redicule the rest of my life. My girlfriends all say he's going to lay bricks (you know what I mean) when I start to look thinner and start getting comments. I'll be healthier less depressed and happier and he will not like that! His problem!!! There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is getting lighter and lighter as each day goes by.

I'm getting ready to get dress and go to the fabric store and feel fabric!! That always makes me feel better. Then I think I'll come home and work on one of my many craft projects. I'm so glad I've cleaned my frig. out. Now there is nothing sweet to eat in it.

Ok!!! Now I'm b eginning to stress, no freak!!! My band date is two weeks off I have pre-op class tomorrow, i"ve broken out in a rash, want to eat everything in sight. I'm obsessing about any and everything. I feel I need to be talked of the edge! :help: Jennifer

Have you tried going to Sam's or Cosco? You might find them much less there.

I just ordered my first container of "Any Whey" from Vitamaker.com It's tastless and you can put it in anything hot or cold. Check it out and see if this is something you'd like. I went on the web and found many suppliers for it. This site was the cheapest. $13.95 plus shipping total came to 20.94 Others cost ranged from $23-53.

Well Jane, if you have questions CALL YOUR DOCTOR!!! As I mentioned before I'm at DePaul and am coing to pre-op class on Friday. That's when they will do an EKG, chest x-ray and blood work. I will be given my pre and post-op instructions. If after you talk to your dr. let me know if you want a copy of what my instructions are. Perhaps your dr.'s office is just a little slow. Misty, I have the same band date as you and I can't wait. I have set my goal of 30 lbs by June. I know it may be hard but I'm willing to put in the work.

My Dr. said that as soon as the anesthesia wears off. Prob the next day if you feel up to it.

Great for you!!! :clap2: I don't have to buy new clothes for sometime. I have a variety of sizes in my closet. (I'm a pack-rat) As I lose I'll just take up the waist, use the blouse as a jacket etc. I'm saving my money for the perfect size whatever after I'm stable.

Just hang in there!! What I think about when I start stressing is those 40 lb bags of potting soil that I can hardly lift to put in the car when I go to Wal-mart and I grumble when I have to drag it out to use. Well I'm asking my heart to do more than that. I'm carrying around at least 3 of those bags everyday and hopefully within the next 2-3 months I'll be rid of at least one of them and by next year all three will be gone forever:clap2:

The easiest low/no carb diet I know is don't eat any thing white corn or peas.

Hi Jane, my name is Jennifer and I'm b eing banded April13 at DePaul by Dr. de la Torre. My friends brother had his rny done at Barnes and is doing fine. So I know you'll be ok there. Weightloss Centger at DePaul has a great support group that meets 1&3 Wed of the month. Lots of info guess speakers and oh yes, we even have the hospital's exceutive chef come in and make a meal for us. My first meeting with the group we did taste test making smothies and shakes. I you like to keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.

Enjoyed your positive views I can't wait to bend over and tie my shoes. I never thought about it until last month that I/we tie our shoes to the side. I can't wait until I can wear clothes that don't start with X. My band date is April 13th. :clap2:
