I have the small 4 cc band and I currently have 4.25cc in mine and still could use a fill.
-
I do get hungry but not nearly as hungry as I did pre band. My last fill wasn't painful until he had to poke me 4 or 5 times and I was bruised for a week. And just to let you know, your band can hold up to 5 ccs. I currently have 4.25cc.

I was terrified of surgery (never had surgery before lapband) It is painful in my opinion. But everyone tolerates pain in different ways. I was self pay. I paid 12,900 for it and it's the best thing I have ever done for myself and well worth every penny. It was all on an interest free credit card. I've never had to pay any interest on the surgery. I'm so happy with myself, my conifdence has boosted so high and could have never gotten through it without the support of both of my parents and a lot of my friends. I hope this helps ease your mind

Sarong (spelling?) I feel ya on the whole not taking it off until right before I'm about to get in :frown:

Tankins, boy shorts are the way to go.

Hey, If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I've been banded for 17 months.:frown:

The last time I had a fill which was in December of 2007, the fill doctor which is a surgeon that is doing pro bono work for my surgeon that retired had a really hard time getting to my port because it was tilted. He put me under fluro, found the port, filled me and sent me on my way. He didn't say anything about having to do a port replacement. Is this something that I should ask next time? And what are the average costs for port replacement if I'm self pay?

Although I have heard that straws give you gas, I've not had a problem with using a straw. Everyone is different

Stupid people and their stupid opinions
Missy0224 replied to spoodles's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tell everyone I have the band. I don't care if they have anything negative to say about it because guess what? I wouldn't have lost 80 lbs with any other diet. If I did lose it, I would gain it right back. Atleast with Lapband, you keep it off. I don't see how I could gain this weight back. I would have to get unfilled and eat like crazy. I LOVE LAPBAND AND WILL NEVER BE ASHAMED OF IT! -

I'm so freaking scared of rejection. Actually on Wed night, I finally got the courage to go up to some guy and he was nice but didn't ask for my number.... -

I've basically just come to the point where I'm tired of looking. I'm going in the route of not looking and hopefully one day, someone will come to me when I least expect it. I hear that I'm so beautiful all of the time but nobody ever hits on me. My confidence level has definately gone up, so I don't know what the deal is. Maybe the guys in Houston are wusses :-) -

Congrats to you Kimmie! I never seem to have luck on any singles websites. Best of luck to you and your new man! -
It would be great to do in June. I plan on making a trip to Vegas in June to meet a fellow lapbander that I know on here. Let us know!

My damn bullet broke! 2nd one to break on me. I feel like such a freak! HAHA!

That's why we have "tools" to help us along the way :-)

Um hell yes!? When?

I've always said that if after losing weight some guy that knew me when I was bigger tries getting with me it would be a nono because if they weren't into me when I was big then I don't want them.

Have slim people asked you if they can qualify for the surgery?
Missy0224 replied to SuzanneG's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I appreciate your opinion, however, I had my surgery done when I was 21 and have been overweight since I was 9 years old. I think getting the band when you are younger is way better then to wait until you're older. I would yo yo diet all of the time and never seemed to get anywhere. I'm totally for younger people getting the band to save their life early. -
Nope. Not unless they thought it in their head and didn't say anything. But I've dated more guys in the past year then in my whole lifetime. Funny how things change when you lose a couple of pounds.
-
I have been up front about it with every guy that I've dated since banding. If they don't like it then they can beat it!

Drinking is easy for me. Can't really handle the carbonation. I stick to a lot of wines. But I warn you that if you do drink, it will slow down your weight loss. I learned the hard way.:frown:

They have cordless? Damn that cord really gets on my nerves. I've never seen one. Any ideas where I might find one?
