The initial "restriction" comes from the post op swelling around the stomach. Also it depends on the size of the stomach. if you have a small stomach then the band itself will have little restriction until filled but someone with a larger stomach will feel restriction sooner. I mean the stomach here and not abdomen. THX

i showered the day after surgery and everything was fine. I was not to bathe for the first few days.

how long do you have to be on liquids after each fill? did you all the stages again i.e. clear... full... mushy and then soft foods?

Hi, I am 2 weeks out from surgery today and this weekend i was to begin mushy (blended) food but it seems like i was able to eat soft foods as long as i chewed well it all worked. no Bandster hell. i was almost expecting it. i too feel like my appetite is slightly smaller but not what i expected 2 weeks post op. i wont be getting a fill for another 4 wks.

Hi all, My clear Fluid diet ends tonight. I'm wondering what ideas people have for the full liquid diet. I feel like I've been doing liquid for so long, its getting tiring. I would love some suggestions for full liquid diets. - J

oh.. and banana yogurt smoothies too!

thinned creak of wheat (with 1% milk) and a thin lentil soup are keeping me going so far.

i just had some cream of wheat today. It tasted good after days of juice and jello. Something with some substance. got full quickly. i too am happy with the honeymoon weight loss. seems like i wake up to 1-1.5 lbs down every morning. I imagine that is about to end since my caloric intake will be up with full liquids.

finishing up day3 today. The smells of food are enticing but i get full with even a little bit of liquid. Tomorrow is the last day of clear but I am not sure thicker liquids will flow down easily in 2 days. may be. i realize this is the "honeymoon phase" but its nice to see the scale down 4lbs since surgery. nice.

Day 2 for me today. I cant even drink clear liquids i start to feel tight in my chest. I'm told day 5 i will be on full liquids.

I got banded Nov 1st as well. Overall has gone well, except i have had high blood pressure, not sure why. usually have not had high BP. Pain with swallowing even water yesterday but today is better. Overall going well...

How does family decide to support my last day of pre-op misery? By making my most favorite dishes and I get to have some canned soup. Oh not to mention.. some advice about how i should stay true to my pre-op diet. Is this is a sign of things to come. I'd better be prepared.:wink2::smile2:

Hi all, I am now a week away from surgery date. I wanted to know from post op folks... when were you able to begin exercise. The surgeon told me that i can begin walking the day after surgery, but when can you begin jogging or doing weights/machines at the gym? Thanks, - J

Surgery date is fast approaching... Nov 1st! havent started my pre-op liquid diet yet. plan to begin Tuesday which will be 7-days before surgery. I did a trial 3 day liquid which was a requirement by insurance. I lost 4 lbs during this time. was it just a shock to the system of dropping caloric intake to 1200/day, or is it something others are experiencing as well. I wonder how much weight most people lose from preop liquid through the post op liquid (before you can eat blended foods) May be i should've posted this on post op forums.

I am scheduled for Nov 1st. excited and anxious all at once.
