Yep Carol, We are the bad ass banded bikers...... I don't have anything leather yet for the same reason. I just started riding this week after a long cold winter. I'm working down by Palm Springs so it's been nice and sunny here..perfect for riding yahoo!!

Hi Joline, I live in Stevinson, which is in Merced county. Surgery date is right around the corner for you. It is pretty exciting to start a new chapter in your life.... Just don't expect quick results. I'm a slow loser about a pound a week , but I'm just happy I'm not gaining. And about this harley thread, how about other motorcyles? I started riding after 20 years off (raising my kids )and I have a bike but not a harley yet. Take pity on us non harley riders:D Good luck on the 15th and keep us posted, Kelley

Yep, Tracy is giving good tips for u. I didn't find this forum until i was newly banded. I learned alot from just reading everyones posts. I was banded in Monterrey Mexico (self pay) by a great doc. I've lost only 19lbs but I'm a slow loser. But I ok with that. I know its gone for good. Just don't expect immediate results. It is a lot slower than the bypass but I feel it's healthier that way.. by the way I love my band. Keep us posted on what u r gonna do. Kelley

What helped my hunger was creamed soups and protein shakes. You still are freshly banded. Your stomach has to heal so try to stay with liqueds just improvise. How about Campbell Selects soups they are pretty good. Hang in there it will all be worth it....Keep us posted. Kelley

HI Cyndy, I live in Calif..central valley area. I live in the country too, actually it's more like farm area dairy land. I love it so much more than the city. I live on 10 acres and have know idea what to do with all that acerage. Oh well... I had my surgery (self pay) in Monterrey Mexico. My doc was so wonderful. His Name is Javier De La Garza. I wasn't real nervous until the actual day of surgery. You know, you just get to the point when you say enough is enough. I have obesity in my family, my dad had gastric bypass lost so much weight. Then I just started researching and lapband was the least invasive.. I have a feeling you will love the band.. I do. This forum is the best. I've never been in chat rooms before, but i here i go to lots of different threads and just meet and learn and talk. Keep us posted . You will do fine. Kelley

Is that your first fill? I didn't feel alot of restriction on my first fill at all. As far as your weight loss.....25lbs is great. Don't compare yourself to other peoples weight loss....it will drive you crazy.. Go in the store and big up 25 lbs of butter..that's alot of fat gone for good. Congrats to U:scared: Kelley

Don't Sweat it, Vickie. I think you are on track with your weight loss. You've lost more than me and I was banded 2 weeks before you. Take the great advice from everybody .........and have patience...lots of it. You will do great.:clap2: Kelley

That's got to be in pesos. It's roughly 10 to 1 in exchange rate. So the chick broth is most likely $5.00.(which is still a little pricey)

Wow Edie, You have great results. An Inspiration to all of us. -
Alright Tom, You are back in action. My band is real tight in the morning. I stopped even trying to eat in the morn, just a Protein Drink. lunch for me is soft food, then for dinner my band is loose enough for a good meal. The cool thing about the band is when it works right you don't feel deprived at all. I love being a bandster!!
-
HI Cyndy, Welcome to bandland. Whereabouts in Oregon do you live? I used to go to Portland every year for the Rose Fest. It's been a few years since I've been there. It's a beautiful area. Are you going to Mexico for the surgery? I've been banded since Nov 06. The surgery is not too tough at all.Keep us posted, lots of info here. You can learn alot by just scrolling the threads. Bye 4 now, Kelley

Hey Tom, Where do I line up? Oh wait, I'm married . If I wasn't ,I'd be joining the lapmatch.com I have to say the nov bandsters are definately the fun ones. Do you travel out west to county fairs? I travel on the fair circuit but in Calif-Idaho and Nevada. I have a couple of food concessions plus manage the carnival office where i work. Yep, a carny and yes I have all my teeth. Our first fair is in 2 weeks..The Riverside County Fair and National Date Festval. No ,Tom not that kind of dates, its the fruit, SORRY

Back to the operating table....
kjojojr replied to canadian bander's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm self pay too from Mexico. Does the doc charge you for additional surgery(slipped bands) ? What if it was placed wrong? I hear he's a great doc. I hope all goes well for you and you get the band working for you. Good Luck and keep us posted. Kelley -
Congats, Ted. Have a great trip.
-
Lee, You probably will lose at least 2lbs a week if u excercise and eat low carb, etc. I know I could lose more if I execised more and ate more of the right things. I know I'm a slow loser cause sad to say i'm taking the lazy way. Eating less, that's it. But I'm still down 19lbs since the band. So U make it what u want it to be.

wow, That's terrible. How do you think it slipped? Does it bother or hurt you. I've heard talk of bands slipping but I don't know anyone whos band actually slipped. Keep us posted. Thanks and good luck to you, Kelley -
Yep, I hear ya. I keep forgetting too. Tonight I was out eating and I just grab the water and drank it. I wasn't thinking. It's really something we all have to work on. All these years of doing it and now we have to re-train our eating habits.

Glad your feeling better. Just watch out for the quantites. That's what screwed me up. It can be really painful if you it too much.
