Wow, congratulations. That's awesoome. -

Sunshine, i'm also 5'5. Our stats are definitely similar. I may be 20 years younger, but you have 20 lb less to lose. I envy you.
-
Hey Audree, it's nice to know that there's a bunch of anxious future bandsters. It feels weird to admit that i'm looking forward to surgery. It's great that you've started exercising, after reading your post i've decided to start today. No more waiting till monday, i'm going to start doing something conducive to weight loss today.
-
I hear you, i've been really distracted at work lately, i just hope my boss doesn't notice. I'm only telling my parents (because they are paying for it) but no one else. If you ever feel like you're going to burst if you can't talk about it just PM me, it's all i ever think about anyways. Wow, i sound like such a dork.
-
Sunshine, i'm glad that i'm not the only one feeling this way. I haven't been doing a whole lot of anything lately but either talk about the lap band, think about the lap band or read everything possible on LBT. I think i'm about to drive my parents insane. I think i'm about to go insane... luckily we've got holidays ahead of us and we can focus on something else for a bit.

I'm starting to feel really eager and anxious, like i just want to get it over with and begin the weight loss already. I've still got so much to go. Anyways, i was just wondering if anybody else is feeling that way.
-
Wow! There are so many January Bandsters. Imagine, if none of us had found this website we'd all feel so alone. I'm really glad that there's such a large group, it's an awesome that we can all support each other.

:funnypost:That actually made me laugh out loud. Flabuless, you're hilarious.

pinky12202 replied to vannav12's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey, i'm getting banded on the 16th too! Where are you going to have your surgery? I'm not really nervous yet, just super excited, i've actually kind of been waiting for the "what have i gotten myself into" feeling to kick in, but so far so good. We'll do great though, keep us posted. -
No longer just a reader - Surgery in January
pinky12202 replied to cdgmom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That's so exciting! Congratulations. If you're getting banded in January, we have a january bandsters thread at http://www.lapbandtalk.com/january-bandsters-t25717.html. It's cool that your insurance is covering it, i wish mine would... -
Hi, yup, i speak spanish. I actually live in Mexico near the texas border. My surgery is at the Obesity Surgery Center of Monterrey. Was it nice? I've never been to Monterrey, usually when i travel it's to the US so i've never been further into Mexico. I hear it's pretty americanized though.

Hey all, i'v been "lurking" for a couple of days just trying to learn as much as i can about lap banding, i'm scheduled for surgery on January 16th in Monterrey with Dr. Rumbaut. I'm so excited! :biggrin1:
-
I wish! I find myself doing that last-meal thing quite a bit. I feel like since i don't know for sure what i'll be able to eat later and what not, i need to eat all my favorite things one last time before surgery. Probably not the best way to go about it. I bought an exercise DVD the other day, just haven't started it yet... hopefully i'll get around to it next week. We should probably try to keep each other accountable or something...
-
Yay You  ! I hope you get a surgery date in January. Where are you having it done? About the ticker, i definitely had trouble with it too. I went to tickerfactory.com and then just right-clicked it when i was done and saved it to my images, then i went to edit my signature and clicked on the "custom image" and picked it from my pictures folder. I think you're supposed to do it with copying and pasting the URL, but it didn't work, maybe it'll work for you but it was too confusing for me. I'm not that computer-smart...

Dr. Rumbaut is doing my surgery, he's supposed to be really good, he's done over 4,300 lap band surgeries, so i'm pretty sure he know's what he's doing. If you want to check out his website it's http://www.gastricband.com/

Hey, i'm getting banded on January 16th in Monterrey:clap2: . Is anybody feeling really nervous? I keep on waiting for it to kick in but so far it's just excitement. I'll probably be shaking with nerves on the 15th though.
-
Hi guys, i was just wondering if i absolutely have to have protein shakes for my pre-op liquid diet, or is slim-fast okay too? I've heard bad things about protein shakes and i kinda like slim-fast.

pre-op liquid diet
pinky12202 replied to pinky12202's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks guys. I checked the label on Slim-Fast, you're right, it doesn't have a lot of protein. I'll try to find something better. I still have about 3 weeks before i start the pre-op diet, but i figure it doesn't hurt to try and find something in advance. -
Thanks for the support, i'm not telling anybody but my parents that i'm getting the lap band, so it'll be nice to have a place where i can talk about it... or vent about it. Hopefully all goes well though and i don't need to vent too much. I'm determined to make this work.
