  2. Happy -- Birthday sunflowergirl!

  3. 1 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 1st Anniversary sunflowergirl!

  4. I agree with what you are saying - I have had my band over 4 months now and with my last fill on Monday, I am feeling quite restricted, almost to a point of being a little overfilled. But yesterday, the 'hungries' came on with a vengeance. When I looked at the calendar it made perfect sense. I can eat normally at mealtime and feel very full, then 2 hours later, I feel hungry again. And my healthy snacks aren't helping me to feel satisfied. Know that you aren't alone!
  5. I had surgery on a Thursday and went back on the following Monday. I didn't tell any of my co-workers and only took Thursday and Friday off. I really wish that I had taken a few more days off to recoup. I sit at a desk all day, and the hardest part was the pressure on my port and band. Like a previous poster, my underwire bra was very uncomfortable. Recovery really is an individual thing and also depends on age, physical ailments, attitude, etc. Good luck with your surgery!
  6. This is a really good question - usually I troll the post-op forum, but your question prompted me to post. I am 3+ months post-op and am having a difficult time 'seeing' myself thin. I have lost 45 pounds since surgery and have been at this weight before with endless dieting, so it is familiar. I am looking forward to getting to my pre-pregnancy weight before I had my daughter and gained what I call my 'baby' fat. I should explain that my 'baby' is now 15 years old, and I have been struggling with my weight most of my life. I am looking forward to getting the weight off and finally being able to keep it off, and however it looks, it will be good! Thanks for the great question and all the replies thus far!

    Worth the read

I've only been banded since 09/16/10, and haven't even had a fill yet....what do other bandsters who have been banded for a while think of this?

    2 1/2 Weeks Banded!

Billie, Glad to read your post. I had surgery on the 16th of September and had lost 18 pounds, but have gained a few since going on mushy food. I do look forward to starting solid foods. I, too, still have tenderness on my port side. It's not a bad pain, but still uncomfortable at times. All of my incisions have healed well though. Keep up the good work and stay in touch with your progress. --Lisa

    Restriction post op

Yes, I experienced the same thing. I had surgery on the 16th, and just yesterday was able to drink some carnation instant breakfast in the morning and a few sips of creamy soup for lunch. Other than that it has been clear liquids. When I saw my doctor on Tuesday, she said to just take it slow, and be sure to stay hydrated.
  10. Congrats to all who have had their surgeries! Keep us posted on how you are doing. Mine is next Thursday - trying to make it through the pre-op diet. Jamie, I think I am the old one in the group here! But no worries, looking forward to losing weight and feeling better soon.

    Any Loyola Lap band patients

I found out last week that my insurance was approved and I am scheduled to be banded by Dr. Sarker on September 16th and can't wait. I wish that I would have found this thread a few months ago, but am glad that I have now. My story is very similar to the others with the time frame and all of the tests that were required. Ron, How have you been since your surgery?
  12. I just found out this week that my insurance approved my surgery and my date is set for September 16! Excited and relieved that I am finally moving forward and the date is set. It's taken 5 months to jump through the hoops and testing required. Looking forward to talking more with all the other September bandsters out there! --Lisa
