  1. I have just found out today that my band has slipped. I have been experiencing vomitting since December 2011, and was admitted to hospital with severe dehydration. I am absolutely devastated, as this is going to cost me another operation, and I am still paying for the first one! I feel that if I had just had the willpower to diet sensibly, I would not be in this position, and I am worried about where I will find the funds to fix this. I am so depressed. Has anyone else out there experienced slippage of their band.
  2. The band is empty, but I'm still experiencing vomitting, and am losing too much weight, and feel exhausted. Thnaks for your response.
  3. I had my band in 2010, and have lost 6 stone. I am now experiencing occasional terrible pain in my left hand side of my stomach, and around to my back. Has anyone else expereinced this, and if so have you any advice for me? I only have 3.5 cc in my band at the moment.

    My Band Has Slipped

Thankyou everyone for your feedback, I appreciate it, and I will update when I have seen the surgeon.
  5. Hi. I was admitted to hospital on Thursday with severe dehydration, and exhaustion after not having kept anything down for nearly a week. I now know that it is because my bad has slipped. I have got to see the surgeon this week, and am very worried about what he will do. Please could people share their stories of similar experience with me. Thankyou.
  6. You need to seek medical advice. I was admitted to hospital recently with severe dehydration, and the xray showed my band has slipped slightly. I have never felt so ill. I have to see my surgeon this week so he can decide a course of action.
  7. I had my band in August 2010, and have lost 6 stone which is wonderful. I am now finding though that I am struggling to keep anything down on some days, even water. I had some fluid taken out of my band because of this, and was okay for a while, but now I am really struggling, and I feel constantly thirsty. Can anyone please give me some advice. Thankyou very much.
  8. Saw the surgeon, and he took 1ml out. Feel so much better, and have acyually kept soup down today. Haven't really eaten anything for the last 6 days, just sips of water, which kept coming back up. Hope this is the end of it!
  9. Thankyou. I am seeing the surgeon tomorrow for an emergency de-fill, and hopefully he will get to the bottom of this.
  10. Can someone explain why it may take up to 2 weeks to be able to feel restriction after a fill? I thought that when the band is filled with saline, there would be immediate restriction, but I have read that this is not always the case. Thanks.
  11. Hi there. I have had my first "fill" in my band today. I have a size 9 band, and it has been filled to 4. Is this usual for a first fill, and will I feel the restsiction when I am off the fluids, and back on solids? How will I feel? Will I really feel full after a few mouthfulls? Thanks for reading my post, and i welcome any advice or benefitting from other bandster's experiences. Jane
  12. Hi, I had my band on Tuesday, and ever since then I am struggling to follow the post op liquid Protein diet. I am just not hungry, and the thought of the Protein drinks, shakes and Soup make me feel ill! I know I need to keep up with the diet to ensure I am getting some calories in, and all of the nutritional value, but I am stuggling to do this. This is making me a little light headed! Has anyone else had this problem, and if so have you any advice for me? Thanks, Jane
  13. Hi, I had my band yesterday in Sheffield. I want to do the ticker tracker, but don't know how to set it up. Can someone please tell me how to do it? Thankyou. Jane
  14. Hi, My name is Jane, and I live in England. I think that this site is very good, and there is more to it than the ones in the UK. I am having my band on the 24th August 2010, and would welcome any advice, or support. It would also be good to make some buddies from overseas who are in the same position as me, to share the experience with. Thanks, Jane
  15. Hi, I'm from West Yorkshire in the UK, and had my band fitted yesterday in Sheffield. I didn't go through the NHS, I went private, but if I can help answering any questions based on my experience as I go through it, I will be happy to help. At the moment I am very tired, and sore, but not hungry! I am hoping that I feel a little better after a good night sleep in my own bed tonight! Jane:smile2:

    scared

Hi, I have just returned home from hospital after having my band yesterday. Like you I was very scared, and cried a little on the way to the anaesthetic room. I woke up after the op in quite a lot of pain, but they gave me morphine straight away which solved it. I also felt sick, and thought that I was going to be, but I had an anti vomitting shot in my leg, and I was okay after that. I slept on and off throughout the evening, and had some spasms in my belly and shoulders this morning which they said was gas,and I was advised to continue with the pain releif, and have been okay since. I am very tired, and am just taking it easy. You will be fine, I feel a lot better now, and it is just over 24 hours since I had my op. I am hoping for a good sleep tonight! Take care, and try not to worry. Jane
  17. Hi, I had my band yesterday, and am now at home feeling sore and tired. The operation went well, despite me being very nervous, and worrying that my liver would be too big for the op!! I was pleased to learn that I had lost 7 1bs on the pre op diet, a kick start to my forthcoming weight loss! I felt very sick and in pain after the op, so I was given some morphine and an anti sickness injection. I have got 5 tummy wounds which have been stapled up, the staples come out in 10 days. I have to give myself s blood thinning injection every night for the next 10 nights. I was shown how to do this last night. I have had a tiny yoghurt, and a protein drink so far, and have not been sick. I am going to take it really easy tonight, and am going to keep up with the pain releif. The pain in my shoulders and rib cage has just started from the build up of gas, and it is very unconfortable! If any of you have got any tips for me as to what to expect etc, I would welcome the advice. Thankyou. Jane
  18. Hi Annie, My op went well, and I am now at home after spending the night in hospital. I am sore and tired, but otherwise okay. Thankyou. Jane
