What's your favorite healthy treats

I eat what everyone else is having. I don't limit myself of foods I love. I just don't eat it on a daily basis. One day won't kill ya -
my daughter took a dive on my stomach
Beachy_Babs posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was laying down today for a nap and out of no where my two year old jumped on my stomach, causing intense discomfort and pain to my port sight and now my stomach hurts. The port sight is tender to the touch and its uncomfortable. What are the chances of me messing something up ? The feeling is best described as someone punching you on the side of your stomach and taking the breath out of you. Ouch....... -

my daughter took a dive on my stomach
Beachy_Babs replied to Beachy_Babs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost three months post op. I called earlier and my physician's assistant said the same thing the other bandsters previously mentioned. So I just have to stick out with the soreness for a few days . -

Slow weight loss!
Beachy_Babs replied to tracey-ann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the previous comments. You are doing well and are averaging good weight loss per week. I am not sure what you are expecting out of this. You can't compare your weight loss progress to any other procedure because they all vary differently. Just keep up with what you are doing, you just healed from a surgery. -
Any Regrets after Lap Band Surgery ?
Beachy_Babs replied to SumthinsGottaGive's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The band has been the absolute best thing that has happened to me (besides the birth of my daughter). I no longer have to worry about my weight escalating out of control because I have taken control of the situation I find myself always analyzing food before I eat. I am by no means a saint at all, but much, much, MUCH better than I was prior to surgery. I am smiling more. I love to look at clothes now. Even though I'm only down 39, (which is a huge accomplishment for me)..I am already 95% more active than I was a few months ago. I hiked three miles the other day and swam in our pool. No regrets at all! -
Punishing myself? Sabotaging myself? Testing my band? PLEASE help. :(
Beachy_Babs replied to RedheadGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Aww ReadHead, my deepest sympathy with your divorce. It must be such a hard thing to go through. Instead of comparing how your ex-husband treated you and how he's treating other women now, just remind yourself that everything happens for a very good reason. I know right now everything is looking gloom, but I promise you, a ray of sunshine will come out of all of this. You are a strong woman and never underestimate yourself. As for eating, before I had my first fill, I was able to eat as well. I forced myself not to indulge, but if I were to let loose, I know I could eat. Tomorrow is a new day. Please don't beat yourself up over it. Since you are self paid, just remind yourself how much money you have invested in making this a success. I know you will be a success story one day! Hang in there. The first fill will help alot with eating portions and will give you a bit of restriction physically and mentally. We're here for you girlly! -
You're too sweet! I wish you the best of luck with everything and don't be a stranger See you around the forums

how do you know if a fill is needed ?
Beachy_Babs posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm going in for a second fill on August 8th and I was just curious about how I would know if I need one. I have heard others say they get hungry quickly therefore they would get a fill. Right now, I eat every three to four hours. I sometimes snack depending on what I have eaten before. Portion wise, I can eat about two cups or so of food. Just curious thats all. Thanks for your input in advance. -

Thanks all! Yeah, I think two cups is too much. I will take all of your responses into account. And yes, I use myfitnesspal app on my phone . I don't add my exercise because it messes with my head of my remaining calories . -
Aly and GottaGive, LOL. Yeah, that's what I thought myself when I heard that. People can be so nasty !

Weighing Yourself
Beachy_Babs replied to crash878905's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I confess. I weigh myself at least twice a day and get pissed off whenever I gain 1-3 lbs within ONE day. It's all in my head. Your true weight is right after you wake up and empty your bladder. By nightfall, you've already consumed food so you'll be heavier. For the past 22 years, I was terrified of stepping on a scale and now I'm an addict. Lame. -
Good post. I've been banded since beginning of May and have lost almost 40 lbs. No one in my family or group of friends know that I have had the band, except for my husband. I do not make it obvious in any way therefore no one has suspected anything. However, my portion size has gone down by nearly 80% of what I used to eat. I have had comments from friends such as, "That's ALL you're going to eat? Quit lying to yourself. You know you want the food." And I just say, "Actually, no I don't. I'm satisfied with what I ate, trust me." Before, I would hardly shop for myself clothes-wise. Now, I can't stop wanting to buy cute summer dresses and my 18-year old cousin said, "Ugh, you think you're down 35 lbs and you could wear anything now. It's ONLY 35 lbs." I know there's jealousy and people are getting used to my new lifestyle. It's human nature to react like this so I don't fault anyone. I don't say much, but I know those who are genuinely happy for me regardless if they know I had surgery or not. It's the fact that I'm working out consistently, eating healthy and staying positive.

There will be plenty of episodes of pain in order to potentially stretch your pouch. My physician's assistant said that it is unlikely for the pouch to be stretched, but band slippage is more of a possibility if you eat too much. Try eating 1/4-1/3 cup of food instead of just 3-4T.. it may make you feel not so hungry. Again, refer back to your doctor of course and make sure that's okay !

Premier nutrition Protein shakes for Breakfast and it's in a to-go container. Easy access and it fills you up. You can find them at costco and I THINK Sam's Club. 30 g protein 1 g sugar 3 g fat 160 calories 11 fl. oz chocolate is yummy. -

Mine are under the muscle. -
Just remember that the healing process is temporary and you will be able to eat food again. Hang in there. You're going to be so sick of soups and protein shakes after this, but it will be worth it, I promise.

STRUGGLING.....
Beachy_Babs replied to REDsparkles11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe that the hardest part of working out is getting your butt out of the house, into your car, and to the gym! Once you're there, it's not so bad at all and I love the feeling after a sweaty workout Are you willing to renew your gym membership? I think it's the best investment because everything is there for you for a full body workout. I'm a 24hour fitness member and I love their group X classes. If not a gym membership, then I recommend an xbox KINECT with different workout games and dancing games. The dancing games have workout modes and will calculate how many calories you burn. Good luck!! -
