Breakfast...just not staying full, need help
Supporting Spouse commented on Supporting Spouse's blog entry in Blog 99676
Thanks for all the advice!! Best of luck to you all in your journey! -
My husband has been banded less than a month and has not had his first fill yet. He states that breakfast is the hardest meal for him because it just doesn't seem to keep him satisfied. Any suggested on what to eat in the AM to keep your hunger under control until lunch. Thanks

19 pounds down since post op
Supporting Spouse commented on Supporting Spouse's blog entry in Blog 99676
Thanks Janet!!! Best wishes to you as well.. -
I am so proud of my husband. He is down 19 pounds since he was banded in August. His attitude is positive, he is focused plus his energy level is starting to increase. I have not seen him this happy in years. Finally, he believes that he can lose the weight. It is the first time he can actually see himself being able to make it. I know he can and will be with him every step of the way.. Again.. so darn proud of my guy!

Newbie Here, Just Wondering...
Supporting Spouse replied to AKessler731's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The doctor will make you go through a series of test regardless if you are paying with insurance or cash. It is to cover them just in case... The only thing I can think of is follow up with your doctor's coordinator that is taking care of your application. Just make sure you do not get lost in the loop and they are submitting a complete package. That was the longest part of the process for us. Our file was not complete and no one informed us. So, once I stayed on top of it we were approved the next month :0) Good luck. -

Dr. Terry Simpson - Banded by Dr. Simpson
Supporting Spouse replied to Mariposa2009's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Do you mind me asking what kind of issues? Did you have them from the start or did it happen after you started eating real food? My husband has been doing so well that I am afraid he could "push" it and cause a problem. -
When did you see the difference?
Supporting Spouse replied to IAmJacksLapBand's topic in The Guys’ Room
It seems like you have been at this a long time with much success. My husband was banded 8/10. He is doing great so far, losing about a pound a day (which we know will not always be the case). The main thing for him is exercise. He hates it but knows he has to start doing it. Any suggestions on types of exercise he can focus on that help tone his skin/muscles as much as possible in hopes to eliminate the need for another surgery to correct baggy skin? -
My doctor held out on stage 2 recipes!!

Ensure shakes can increase your calorie intake by a couple hundred if you need a few extra by the end of the day. My husband had ensure right away after being banded so he would get enough calories etc. It has worked great. He has lost 15 pounds so far in 2.5 weeks, which is huge for him. Well have fun eating more variety. I know he is looking forward to that and is counting down the days :0) -
August Rush in bandland!
Supporting Spouse replied to AmberK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The habits are so hard to break. That is what my husband is having the most trouble with. He has certain snacking times and when it comes around he feels he is hungry even though he is not. It seems to be head hunger. The bad habits are going to be the biggest challenge but he is doing great so far. Don't feel bad about the little Debbie.... you will break the habit! -
Toyrenee, Getting approved by the insurance company can seem overwhelming. At times, for us, it felt like it was never going to happen. It took a good 7 months. My husband was banded 8/10! Finally! So hang in there. You will get there and when you do it is going to change your life in so many positive ways. My husband is down 15 pounds and it has just been a little over two weeks. That may not seem like a lot but for him it is huge. We both look forward to the new life we are going to be able to have together. Take care and good luck.

You are going to LOVE Zumba. The time goes by so fast and you don't even feel like you are exercising. Have a great time at the gym!

I have to agree Dr. Simpson is the best. His staff is wonderful and so far my husband has had no real issues with the banding process. It has been a positive experience. -

How did your appointments go? My husband was banded by Dr. Simpson. Everything about the first meeting to the hospital visit was so professional and caring. I love his team and the private hospital staff. We would recommend him to anyone who was looking into this type of surgery. The after care has been excellent. We are so happy with the service and treatment we have received. -

August Rush in bandland!
Supporting Spouse replied to AmberK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband drank V8 juice instead of taking vitamins. He was banded on 8/10 and really hasn't had any issues except the gas pains which have finally gone away. Good luck :0)
