I'm updating my story as we all change, grow and our focus is redirected. I've been banded since December 2010. The first 8 months were so amazing and I lost 83 pounds, easliy. I've unfortunately slipped back into bad, old habits and have recently gained 27 pounds in the past 3 months. I'm going to start the 5 day pouch challenge/test tomorrow on 3/4/12. I'm hoping to "shrink" my pouch back down to the post-operative size and begin my process of weight loss again. I have had "PB's" almost daily since my surgery. Even when I would only eat 6oz if it were a food I've since learned that doesn't agree with me it would come back up. I know I can't eat chicken, bread, coconut, broccli, raisins, apple skin, beef of any kind and then of course the usual any carbonation. It's very disturbing how I can't eat or keep down chicken but I have no difficulties with cookies, ice cream or candy. UGH! I wish those foods made me throw up. Some poeple think that this surgery is a "magic cure". WRONG!!! It's actually a useful tool if you learn how to use it but in the same sense it can set you up for failure if you chose to over indulge in slider foods. Good luck to everyone and feel free to email me with any questions or suggestions. I'm eager to assist and be assisted in this life-long journey.
