I have fought weight all my life, first diet was in 4th grade, first liquid diet was as a junior in high school. I got really serious about healthy eating and exersing after my third child and lost 100#. I did it by walking 3 miles every morning, aerobics 2-3 nights a week and lifted weights 4x a week, plus healthy eating with small portions. I kept it off for 5 years and then had an accident, breaking my back which has limited my ability to exercise. My third child is now 21 and I have been looking into lapband for 3 years. I actually had it set up for last summer, but got a bad feeling from the dr and his office in Lubbock, TX. So this year I set it up with Dr. Finnell in Wichita Falls, Tx. Had my procedure the 30th of June and have lost about 18# so far. I would like to lose 110#. I have had only one fill and scheduled another one next week. All in all I think the gradual fill has been good for me because I have continued to work full time without being wiped out from no calories. I was swimming 3-4 times a week, but never lost weight. I need to do more with exercise, but this is a work in progress. Looking to join the forum for support and encouragement.
