Kaiser Southern California
BlaqBeary replied to kristykreem's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
sounds so exciting. i cant wait to get authorization to PB. i guess i can assume to have surgery in late november or middle of december. [QUO TE=Weigh8nomor;82414]I am from Kaiser WLA and I first begin options classes back in 2007 when they were ( I think) 24 weeks long...I lost over 30 lbs by the end of my options class and "OPTED" out of the surgery ~ they weren't doing sleeves then and RYN still seemed so drastic to me. In 2009 I truly wanted the surgery so I attended a shortened 20 week class...I felt as if I were on punishment taking the class all over and with the same instructor. Upon completion of my second "tour of duty" I was told there was a 6-8 month wait for surgery at WLA or Harbor City...I just couldn't wait...I chose the Pacific B route which had a 6-8 WEEK wait...I am 4 week out today and I can say my Pacific B experience was the absolute best! I liked that they specialize in Bariatric surgery ~ Kinda like going to Midas muffler for my car cause they do nothing but mufflers.... Good luck to all of you who are waiting. I can honestly say..."I love my sleeve" -

Hi Spiritus, I'd like to correct you on Pacific Bariatric. For post surgery patients follow-up visits are done in Anaheim unless you want to drive to San Diego. -
Remind me of why I shouldn't get on the scale
BlaqBeary replied to Lisalu's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Im so glad I will not have this problem. I don't have a scale at home, nor am I driving 25 minutes from home to get on one. Now if I have to go to the doctor or emergency then that is different. But I will not be buying one. It is truly an obsession, only because as a lot of you know, you have lost a tremendous amount of weight. Losing is a wonderful thing and to know this WLS is the tool to make us happy, who wouldn't want to know how the scale is moving. -

Wow, Im glad I came across this posting. I haven't had surgery yet, but trying some of these will surely help me to not be bored and turn to food to satisfy boredom. I will be making a list for all things that can be done around here before knowing what my surgery date is. Thanks for opening my mind tonight. -
There are so many of you who have had the surgery at least a year. Its been HOT this weekend in Los Angeles and unbearable for this fat I have and the edema is worst than ever. Since surgery, losing lbs and feeling lighter, how has it been for you during hot days. Is it the same feeling of being hot and miserable? or sweating profusely? or is the heat more tolerable? I sure can't wait til next summer when I can say I feel good not lugging around all those lbs. Krys

Sounds good. I think the same, in that, I will be able to move more freely. My goal is to jog, a big jump from only walking. Great job on your weight loss. -
I will have to try Caramel Latte. My husband says I should stick with the same flavor I always buy. But if the Caramel Latte is true to taste like the strawberry Milkshake, I will surely buy my next visit to Lindberg Nutrition.

What do I DO Now? Advice Wanted
BlaqBeary replied to BlaqBeary's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I like this idea too. Will start on Monday. -
Now that I have completed classes to prepare me for surgery, what can I do to get the rest of the weight off before the sleeve procedure? I have this edema issue with my ankles & feet; diurectics doesn't work. I only lost five pounds in the 12 weeks required. I want to lose at least 15 more. I no longer want to feel anymore discouraged about the weight not coming off from Water. I basically have six weeks and I know I can get it off, even if its just water weight. Thanks. Krys

Pain is not too bad, on morphine pump. All wired up with my oxygen as I type. Still foggy guys so i'll make it short and sweet :-) Thanks for all the wonderful support. Xxx Emma
