    So Cal Kaiser

That's a great start to finish. I think what it is, is Fontana may not have as many patients as Bellflower, West L.A. and Harbor City. And be happy you are not living up North, I hear they are worst and even more strict about having this procedure. Krys

    So Cal Kaiser

Hello Does Kaiser Fontana give an outsourced referral to another surgery center. I went through Kaiser Bellflower and had the option to pick Pacific Bariatric in San Diego. You may want to check that as an option. I also had to go to San Diego and see the surgeon, do psych eval, physical with another doctor. This was all completed the same day. My whole process was a year from February 2010 being referred to Options class from June to September. October I was in San Diego for the psych eval, etc... After that I was scheduled for surgery in February 2011. In my area with Kaiser there was a 8 to 10 month wait after options class. And Of course, I didn't want to wait that long. If you want you can go to www.pacificbariatric.com and check out info. My surgeon is Dr. Janos Taller and he is not only good looking, but a really good caring person and explained everything. Dr. Tanaka is good also. He had to release me from the hospital, because Dr. Taller had an emergency. Krys

    My APRON ----UGHHHH!!!!

Hi Val Question to you and others who have had the Panniculectomy, TT, or Abdominoplasty procedure. What was the feeling you had once you knew your abdomen was no longer hanging or sticking out? I keep going on in my head, wondering to myself, will I cry, or smiling ear to ear, do I just want to jump and go running to scream it to the world. Also, after you went home and recovered, what were your family and friends reactions? And how often did you look in the mirror? Krys

    My APRON ----UGHHHH!!!!

Congratulations!!!!!!...Yes, I can't wait.....I'm not worrying about the muscle part, I just want the 'apron' gone. If I could afford it, maybe or maybe not I would go for it all. Don't know. Nonetheless, this is free and if for some reason the surgeon sees something else that a lil more has to be done while I'm under, then okay!!!!!!!....I only want the surgery to be successful. Krys

    Excess Skin?

You're welcome. The 'pannus' is your "front butt", hahahahahaha. I'm not sure what the actual medical term is, other than the doctor calling it pannus or apron. And yes, I have Kaiser insurance and there is no out of pocket fees; only my co-pay which is $10 whether I stay over night or as a outpatient. You can google Panniculectomy, which is the removal of the pannus/apron/front butt. Krys

    Excess Skin?

The loose skin is just hanging on my pannus & abdomen area. Before surgery my pannus hung, but abdomen was firm. My arms and inner thighs has looseness but not bad. I contribute that to walking. However, my butt is smaller but still have the firm roundness my husband still loves. It's the same, but smaller. My clothes are very, very loose. I held on to some, especially dresses. I have bought more shirts and dresses. I'm not bothering with buying pants until after the pannus removal in October. Pants that I have that are my favorite, I am having altered after surgery. This way I will not have to spend too much money. I think since surgery I have bought maybe 4 pairs of pants.
  7. I work for the County of Los Angeles and as employees we do not pay into state disability we have the option to pay for it, through payroll deduction. I have three insurance companies I use. So, It doesn't matter if I use my sick time or not, because I am able to use it all. How it works is, as an option we use 100% sick time first; however many hours you have on the books. After 100% is gone, then it automatically goes into 65% time; I usually have about 336 hours, and after this is gone the 50% time goes into effect and I usually have 224 hours of this. Every January 1st, there is an added 336 and 224 hours added to my employee number. I've been there 14 years and I accumulated 8 hours a month of vacation and 9 hours of sick. So for any type of disability I am able to get full/partial pay and three paid claims.

    Zumba

Hello Looking Head Everyone's body is different, but it took me about a year. The first three months were fast and then a stall. It picked back up and I began losing again. Weight gain here and there, because I have lower extremity edema, which is Water weight. I had good and bad days, but it worked out. My edema is really bad; I had water gain in 24hours that was a jump of about 20lbs. I have to take Lasix and potassium @ day and wear compression stockings all day. Don't worry too much, you'll be just fine. Always comeback to the boards for support. I do. Krys

    Lower Belly Work Out

Hello Because I am having some back issues and the flapping of the apron is too much when exercising. I'm beginning to walk leaning forward. Before I walked with a straight back, the reason I'm having it early. I know I have not lost all the weight, and of course, I will lose more, but at least the pann will be gone. Its all about how I will work at to keep it tighten after surgery. But at this point, I have the mindset, whatever a girdle or spanx can't hold in, MY PANN IS GONE. Everyone's situation is different. I've lost close to 100. Also before surgery I had a hanging apron, it just worst and longer since the weight loss. No matter how much information you search, you will never know what to expect after surgery until you are there. Krys

    Panniculectomy

lol. I'm responding to my post. The appointment that I had on 1/2/12 was with a surgeon who told me when I lost 75lbs, to visit with her and we'll schedule surgery. WELLLLLL not!!!! She sent me on a rollercoaster. Do this, Do that. After 5 months of her crap, I made a visit with my surgeon who performed my breast reduction and was scheduled the same day. One thing about it, I'm glad I did have to wait this long. Because when I sit back and think of all the things I went through, I am with the surgeon I am most comfortable with anyway. Krys

    Panniculectomy

I was scheduled on Monday for surgery October 2nd. Pre-op 9/21, Marking (surgeons drawings) 10/1 and Post-op 10/5. All this done straight from the surgeon and his nurse in his office. I'm just waiting for the actual times to be there for each date. I will be called for those. As for Kaiser, in my experience, I've been given referrals, but I truly believe it is at the discretion of the specific surgeon of what to do. Remember, it is just a REFERRAL. Some docs can be DICKS; Excuse me. That's why I went directly to the source, because this same surgeon that is performing the Pann procedure, did my breast reduction in 1990. Without hesitation and examining me, he made the decision. So whatever your concern may be, please don't give up. Every situation is different. Be patient. Krys
  16. Okay here's the SCOOP......In January I went to see the plastic surgeon (rewind)...In 2008 the surgeon told me to lose 75lbs and she will perform a Panniculectomy. -----UPDATE....For the last 5 months she has taken me here and there. Do this, do that. May 28th she says I will put in the order to schedule for surgery, but it will be after the first of the year. After a few choice words to her for taking me on a rollercoaster ride and doing everything she ask. It really pissed me off..........

  17. I was sleeved in February 2011 and I will undergo a Panniculectomy on October 2, 2012. Although I am not at goal weight, my pannus has caused me to have severe backaches, but with no rashes or anything like that. It has become difficult to do aerobics (Zumba), a lot of jumping around hurts like crazy. I walk 4-5 times a week for about an hour or more. Since I have had a breast reduction in 1990 I was able to call the plastics department (with no referral) and set up an appt to see the surgeon who perform my reduction. This past Monday, I met with him and without hesitation he scheduled me. He asked a few questions, checked my pannus and then my breast to see if there is anything special I want done, and told me to stay with exercising and eat as naturally and nutritionally as possible. Zumba

Although I have been out for a year and a half, I Zumba about 4-5 times a week I love it. I bought the Zumba (Beto Perez) latest version about three weeks ago and love it. But before then I was in a recreation center class for over a month. It was $5 a class and my husband added that up and told me to buy it. I think he just wanted me home, lolololol. So, while he's on Xbox360, I'm Zumba'g in another room. He has Zumba'd with me too. It's FUN. Try it. It's 7 DVDs that came in the box. I ordered it through Amazon and paid 72.00.

  23. Question. Why is it when you decide to do something for your yourself, the phone rings and its everyone that lives in the house, is not in the house; wondering what I am doing, COME ON PEOPLE!!!!!! I bought the Zumba series to be at home more and when I'm alone, I'm actually not. Is it wrong for me to turn my phone off while I'm Zumba'ng my weight off?

  24. Okay....Today I rcvd my box today. Of what, you ask?!?!?!?! (wink) ZUMBA ZUMBA ZUMBA...I ordered it from Amazon. I ordered it used, but it was actually new and the latest version that has been on the info-mericals recently. I am soooo excited. I've been going to the local recreation center to Zumba, and I will miss them. However, I will visit a few times a month. Can't wait to Zumba and blow this roof off, lolololol. Krys
