New and different case
BlaqBeary replied to JillianMarie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have read everyone's post to this point. The only suggestion I have for you is, if you haven't yet, is to see a Dietitian and Nutritionist where both of them can set you with a plan of how much to eat daily. Its' not the calories you are concerned about, but the amount of food you eat and the head hunger. If it was only 30lbs instead of 140lbs for me to lose, I will jump at it. I truly wish you the best in whatever decision you decide. -

Gyrllllllll!!!!!!! Awesome. You look wonderful. Now the thread where I asked about the Pann/Apron; you are RockN that tummy. I am starting early with Protein, prenatal vits, and HipHopAbs. lololol. This is going to work for me. I can taste it. You have a wonderful night on the 14th and I'm sure Hubby will not be able to concentrate; keeping his eyes on you. Krys -

Pann and your Doctor's decision
BlaqBeary replied to BlaqBeary's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
This is what ponders me. Having VSG, I am noticing women are losing almost 200lbs. and wearing a size four. I am not sure if I want to be that small. I thinking more of a ten for myself. Is there anyway the VSG surgeon can map out what weight you like to be. -
Don't be jealous, but I understand where you're coming from. Our bodies had to adjust to the apron for sooo long, that what we are doing now to transform gives us more confidence consciously than we can bear. The key point Tiff made is exercise. I have read alot post where she has stated how she makes sure she does her AB routine with the DVDs she has. And it has to work for you, if you keep at it. For myself I love walking, so this will not be an issue. But believe me, I will be doing a lot of ABs.

High protein preop diet

Curiosity: What does Greek yogurt taste like? Is it sold in specialty stores? And, what flavors/best tasting flavors? Last question: Can you add granola to the yogurt? Krys ____________________________________________ -
I have been in a funk for two weeks; except for my Bday this past Monday. I turned 43. But for the first time on Wednesday I noticed I have used food to comfort me. I'm not happy with this. I have to get myself together by the time orientation rolls around May 10. Please pray for me. Has anyone slumped before orientation or thereafter losing the weight for pre-op? I can't and will not let food be my crutch now. I've already come too far. I am or hope I'm still at 310. Thanks for letting me vent. KRYS

My thoughts from Week #2 Post-Op - Little Miss Sunshine has left the building!
BlaqBeary replied to VV2010's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Weighing everyday will mentally drive me insane. I'm glad I don't own one. If I did I would probably weigh-in like you. It's knowing you had the surgery; keeps curiosity lingering around; "now what", you asked yourself. We tend to beat ourselves to bring us down a little. Don't be discouraged. You will pull through. We all have conquered, going through and/or slowly approaching our dates of changing our own world. Be happy with the progress you have made. I love reading the post too. It keeps me focused; except for Monday, my Birthday. My husband treated me with everything possible. And I must say, I lived it up. LOL. But, know this life is real. This forum is to help weight loss patients and those waiting to have surgery, share thoughts, questions and ideas. Keep up the work. -
Wonderful. A life re-born. I read all of the post and so happy she made it through. God's Speed Tiffany. Note: You had surgery on my Birthday. I have 19 til my orientation with Kaiser. Can't wait to get the ball rolling.

How does this happen?

thank you for your openness. you are funny. i love making love with my husband at 310 lbs now. i only can imagine 100 lbs less.

nteractive video presentation on corset trunkplasty surgerytrunkplastyWLS patients may soon have more options for dealing with excess skin after weight loss."Body contouring surgery has evolved rapidly in recent years,? says Dr. Alexander Moya, Director of the Center for Weight Loss Body Contouring and Assistant Director of the Geisinger Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), in Pennsylvania.Dr. Moya has developed a new procedure to help remove excess skin from the abdominal region. Known as corset trunkplasty, the procedure provides comprehensive contouring of the abdominal region and waistline and can accomplish in one surgery what used to take multiple operations. The procedure is performed with Harmonic technology developed by Ethicon Endo-Surgery, which decreases blood loss and injury to the surrounding tissue.Dr. Moya will be presenting an interactive trunkplasty video to the other plastic surgeons at the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery's annual Aesthetic Meeting in April 2010. Is it possible to have a portion of the tummy to be added to the breast for an uplift. I understand this is possible, especially for breast cancer patients.

summer time is approaching and will be hot for sure. are there any popsicles with high carbs? or a good fudgsicle? a good idea can be to freeze gatorade in ice cube trays with popsicle sticks.
