  3. 1 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 1st Anniversary Franky Gee!

  4. I'm the guy for this question. Pizza was and still is my favorite food. As a matter of fact, I can thank the good 'ol pie to me eventually getting the lapband... Damn you pizza, your so good, but bad?? I unfortunately could handle pizza. Only thin crust, and chewed well obviously. the only thing different, i only eat about two slices at the most instead of the usual 7 slices.. I dont reccommend it, but like i said, you won't be able to eat much. Just focus on all your post-op directions and remember, you will be able to enjoy some of the same foods, but it in a healthy moderation. for the record, ... it's best to stay away from foods you were hooked on. good luck, god bless.
  5. I know exactly how you feel, .. whatever you do, I give this advise... "STICK TO THE DOCTOR'S ORDERS". Don't drift away from the goal. Trust me, I felt like I was going to die of hunger on the third day. I know your probably thinking "My stomach feels like it can process food, especially some soft turkey".. Well it CAN NOT, atleast not yet. Hang in there, it will get easier!! Stay focused and wish you the best.

Quick Lunch / Where do you go?

I would have to disagree with the previous statement someone wrote... STAY AWAY FROM MUSCLE MILK.. high, high , high on calories, big time. My doc told me to treat that item like a drug, "Just Say No"!! Im on week #9 so I know were your concern is in your stage. I did do protein shakes. i recommend the following: Protein Shake from Costco (32 grams of pure protein) YoPlait lowfat yogurt (the white containers) I did soups, not just broth, try vegetable. Try Hormells Chilli with Turkey instead of ground beef. Good job on your weight loss, impressive.
  7. Dear nursecutie, I know exactly what your going through. I'm starting my 6th week post op right now. So let me tell you, I'm in law enforcement and I would have a latte every morning before my shift. My doc told me no coffee for a month after :smile2:. You said you felt depressed after the surgery dealing with the coffee withdrawls, cooking for the family while you chug down a cup of broth, I did too. I was crying at day 3 post op . feeling depressed, hungry, mad, regretting I ever did this. I was already talking to my doc about getting this crap out of me..... But now, Im finally able to eat real food, a lot less, but my mind, body and heart are satisfied. It WILL get easier. Stay focused on the goal, focus, focus, focus. I dont know if this helped but I hope it did. ....
  8. I have my first fill coming soon on 9/30//10. I feel the same way, its been 36 days and ive lost 31 lbs, i eat still, very little, very very little. I have lost a good amount and have still been losing. Im thinking the same about waiting on the fill. I know some people go a long time before getting filled. Anyone out there waited. Thanks for the response, anyone else out there.

    Hungry again

Just got banded Aug 16, 2010. Just started week 2 full liquids which still is bad because I am getting hungry. I feel like I'm healing good. I could actually drink a protein drink that is thicker than the pre-made drinks, actually almost milkshake thickness. Anyways, PLEASE, does anyone have full liquid reccomendations.?? And just to look forward to something., how about week #3 meal plans. What are or what did you do for this week? I was thinking of adding scrambled eggs, maybe with lean turkey slices chopped? Help me out here with some feed back please. Or mashed or baked potato is that possible?

  11. I was scheduled for the lapband with Martin also, and last minute notice of him leaving was upsetting. Dr. Lorei took me in and I had it done this past Monday Aug. 16. Does anyone have any info on Lorei that they can pass on. Good or Bad? I'm at the begining stage and wondering if I did the right thing.
