Weight Watchers help
CheckYes replied to disneymom1978's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weight Watchers doesn't allow carbs? -
Don't bother with salad right now. Eat 1/2 cup of tuna, chicken, meat, scrambled eggs, egg salad made with light mayo, beans etc. I've been at 1/2 cup for the past three weeks. It's easy when you get the hang of it.

I think she meant December 2009.

Taking down Vitamin after lap band?
CheckYes replied to Miss Na's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Celebrate brand is made specifically for bariatric post ops. Tons of flavors. You have to order online. -
Totally normal. You need to police yourself until you get a fill. You might be able to eat anything but you shouldn't.

severe shoulder pain
CheckYes replied to skinnydreaming's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lots of walking around will help with that. It's totally normal. -
Do you still have coffee?
CheckYes replied to Southern Leo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am allowed coffee now but was not allowed to have it until I was one week post op. I only have one cup a day so I'm not overdoing it. -
Apparently many WLS surgeons are keeping it a secret ...

Well put and I'm totally with you on this. -
Surgery was yesterday any advice for a 22 year old male?
CheckYes replied to Mpower's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not your age but if people ask I just say I am on a doctor supervised diet. They can bite me if they dont like my answer. -
Sorry- have nothing to add other than I am so jealous that you live in the Virgin Islands. Can I come visit?

HONEST-Post Op Diet Success
CheckYes replied to JAMILLAH E's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pushing your band's limit can be a slippery slope so be really careful. I suspect one stuck episode and you will stop pushing it. I just tell people that I am on a strict doctor- supervised diet if they are nosy enough to ask! You can do this. Stay strong!' -
You guys are doing so well! Keep at it! It's all for a good cause - YOU!

HONEST-Post Op Diet Success
CheckYes replied to JAMILLAH E's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been following my surgeons orders to the letter but I think the fear of pain or messing something up is my motivator! On Wednesday, I see my surgeon and I suspect she will advance me. I currently eat 3-4 1/2c meals per day plus 1-2 protein shakes and one sugar free popsicle. My calorie intake has not exceeded 600 since I had surgery. I don't think it is helping with weight loss though. I can't wait to find out how to increase my calories and still eat three healthy meals. -
Day 2 of No Smoking in Surgery Prep
CheckYes replied to Mom_in_MN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
May I suggest that if you are using the patch that it is unlikely your headache is a physical withdrawal symptom? I used the patch and was successful for about a year. Then I used hypnosis and it worked like a charm - zero cravings. Been smoke free since April 2009! You can do this! -
December 2010 Bandsters out there?
CheckYes replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck Pam! Kidney stones are bloody awful. I'm sure you'll be glad when its gone! -
Oh my goodness! That must have been scary. Ive been getting flu and pneumonia shots for eight years or so (I had pneumonia twice while I was a smoker). I'm starting to realize that getting the flu shot might be even more important with a band! Thanks for sharing

Low Left Abdominal Pain (Very Sharp)
CheckYes replied to 4MyHealth2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had kidney stones after doing Atkins induction diet for way too long. Who knew a drastic change in diet could do that to you?! The pain was sharp and constant, not stabbing. -
Low Left Abdominal Pain (Very Sharp)
CheckYes replied to 4MyHealth2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kidney stone pain is generally in your back. Have you had kidney stones before or have a family history of then? Maybe you are thinking of gall stones. I don't think it would just go away if it were either of those. If you are concerned about it maybe call your surgeon at ask? Best wishes! -
No Adjustment Yet
CheckYes replied to 4MyHealth2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dont worry! I can eat 500 calories for two days in a row and gain two pounds. I think sometimes hidden sodium does it to me. It will probably be gone in a day or two. Chin up! -
and the recipe of the day is........

No Fill Yet and Very Little Restriction
CheckYes replied to david314's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi David, I would suggest you contact your surgeon for a fill. That's what the band is about. Sure, it's in there but it hasn't been turned on yet (to steal a phrase from another poster on this board). Turn it on and let it help you. Can I ask why you haven't had a fill yet? I thought most docs give a fill about six weeks after surgery. -
Yayyyyy! You will do great! Positive attitudes go a long way. It will also be great to have a buddy who is going through the same thing you are going through. Best wishes!

My surgery is tomorrow!
CheckYes replied to imagine923's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on a Thursday. I wasn't in much pain by Monday but I was really tired. Try not to push yourself too hard. -
This holidays got me, how about you????
CheckYes replied to DeeDee40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hahahah! Me either! -
If your surgeon doesnt know why this has happened I would think twice about having him be my surgeon for a replacement band. Perhaps your band was not placed properly. I suggest a second opinion.
