Will I ever be able to indulge?
CheckYes replied to wannabathinmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, you can technically eat those things but, if you want to be a thin Mom, why would you? That's my brutal honest truth. if you are going to have this surgery, your willpower is going to be tested. Sure, it is ok to fail every now and then but as a general rule it will be best to avoid cake and chips. -

Maybe now that the swelling has gone down it is a bit more difficult to find? -
TWO WEEKS POST-OP . . . NEED ADVICE
CheckYes replied to Strike Up the Band's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From what I have read on this site and my own experience, there is commonly a stall in week two. There have been several threads about it. Even with the stall, I lost 25 pounds in my first month. Don't panic. It will happen. -
Suggested Calories
CheckYes replied to jayeljay613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a month out from surgery and am consuming less than 750 calories per day. I think in a few weeks I am supposed to be up to 1000 but I'm having a hard time getting the 750 in. I'm still on 1/2 cup per meal so that's probably the reason. -
In my opinion the answer is to follow your doctors orders whatever they may be.

Try a soy protein shake instead. Mix with water, not milk. Whey protein does the same thing to me.

Hi Emma, Are you food journaling? How many calories per day are you eating? -
I feel my LapBand is stuck but I dont know!
CheckYes replied to lparker420's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It doesn't sound like a stuck episode - more likely than not it was just a not-so-great choice to eat what you did. Pick yourself up, dust off that motivation and move forward. Stick to your post-op plan. You can do it! -

CheckYes replied to bayareanan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know about that exact vicinity but I'm in Sacramento and there is a support group that meets once a month up here. -

CheckYes replied to Lorilovesflowers's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lori, The calorie restriction can really mess with your emotions. It is going to be ok. Just be gentle with yourself. Best wishes. -

Hi, I would suggest you look at the gallery threads where people post their success stories. There is also a thread for people who have lost over 100 pounds. Why do you think the band won't work forever? Granted, I've only been banded a month but I have yet to feel hunger (and my calorie intake is around 700 a day). I've lost 25 pounds in a month and feel like I could keep doing this forever. You may see posts from people who have had complications - but I hear that most of those complications are rare. I think you should read as much as you can about the procedures. See if you can find a support group in your area - go and speak with people who have had the surgeries done. Your surgeon may prefer one option over another for you health and any comorbidities you might have. I find it is all about being prepared. Doing as much reading as you can will help. Best wishes. -
In general, I *think* that frozen dinners tend to have a lot of sodium. If that might be a concern for you, I would ask your surgeon if they are ok with them. I think once in a while is probably ok but daily might be a bit too often.

I am not currently juicing but I used to and have a commerical juicer. One of my favorites is a "Red Eye". It has beets, carrots and apple. Yum. There was also a green goddess recipe I liked. I think it had apple, celery, akkk I can't remember what else but a bit of lemon - I do remember that.

Just so you know - I hear there is commonly a stall in weight loss in the second to third week post op. It happened to me even though my calories were less than 500 per day. Just don't get discouraged. Not trying to be a negative nelly but just wanted to make you aware of it so you can power through it. Best wishes!

I am a month post-op. Haven't vomited and haven't felt nauseous.

Itchy red rash around incisions
CheckYes replied to amber2604's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had the same thing happen to me lately. I was able to avoid scratching them but what seemed to help ALOT was a tiny rub of baby oil on them each morning. It got rid of the glue AND decreased the itchiness. The PA at my surgeon's office suggested it. -
I haven't experience that but I read here somewhere that raising your arms above your head or bending over to touch your toes helps. Best wishes that it goes down quickly!

What pills can I take!!!
CheckYes replied to Peachez99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How long have you been banded? Do you have restriction? Why not get some liquid Tylenol and make sure you are hydrated? -

For now, I am still on 1/2 cup of food per meal. I am supposed to be ramping up over the next three weeks to 1 cup per meal. No Snacks. -
I've had insomnia for 15 years. I take Ambien nightly but I would love to get off of it at some point!

Oh and actually, tomato juice has quite a bit of sodium too.
