It gets better every day. Just try to stick it out. I ate several sugar free Popsicles a day. I know you ate sick of sweet buy maybe cold and sweet might taste different. Best wishes!

What part of 'its a secret' is too hard to understand?
CheckYes replied to emptyNest's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I totally get why you are angry - I would be too. It doesn't sound like he is a jerk or anything so I just wonder if maybe he has problems with what he might considering "lying" to people. He is involved in the situation and sounds like he was called upon to answer a question and rather than lying or being discreet he just told the truth. Don't be too hard on the guy. Just explain to him again and maybe give him some options to tell people so he doesn't get caught without an answer again. Maybe I just giving him the benefit of the doubt here!?!? You know him best, after all, to determine whether he should get the benefit or not. I haven't told anyone but my mom and sister and I would be annoyed if they blabbed. I'd just question whether it was their intention to blab or if there was another reason. -
I'm down from a 9 to an 8.

SO SAD TO SAY GOODBYE TO BREAD ALTOGETHER

It's awful to feel alone. Have you considered going to a food Addicts Anonymous meeting? There are even online meetings. Www.foodaddictsanonymous.org -
I was told no pre-op diet?
CheckYes replied to dlucia's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had no pre op diet either. I was told to have soft foods the day before surgery and nothing after 8 pm the night before. -
I was banded December 9th and I am still not hungry! Ride the wave as long as you can!

good gynecologist for lap band patients
CheckYes replied to options123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure why having a lapband would affect your pap smear and birth control stuff. I would think any gyno would be familiar with weight loss affecting your hormones and stuff. Am I missing something about lapband in particular? -
I bet your surgeon put fluid in your band at the time of surgery. When I hear these symptoms that is usually the cause. Contact your surgeon and find out. If you do have some fill in there, ask to have it removed.

did they take you off your birth control? also did they put you on shots post surgery?
CheckYes replied to kcharr77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't know about the birth control. I didn't have to do Lovenox. I have seen that some people have had to do it though. -
They pump you full of saline through your IV on yor surgery day. It will go... Don't worry!

I didn't finish a whole shake at a time for at least a week. Just do your best. No need to push it to an uncomfortable level.

Is an EKG and a Chest CT normal pre-op testing before surgery?
CheckYes replied to isabella2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had an EKG and a chest xray. The chest xray was because I was a smoker but quit two years prior to surgery. -
I wonder if you already have fluid in your band. Some surgeons put it in during surgery and when I hear about reflux right off the bat, that is usually the cause. Maybe check in with your surgeon and see if you do. If you have fill, you might want to consider having it removed.

7 weeks Post OP ~ Vacation
CheckYes replied to isabella2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You'll need to follow your surgeons meal plan. They vary so much that no one can really predict what stage you might be on. I would suspect most regular foods would be ok by that point. Most people get their first fill six to eight weeks after surgery so you might want to really consider that. You may find, after surgery, that you are not as invested in what you will be eating in July as you are now. I lost my appetite completely and now eat for fuel rather than enjoyment. -
FitBit....anyone use it?
CheckYes replied to slm2007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wore my bodybugg for three weeks before my family noticed it. It's super comfortable and gives you a lot more information than a fitbit. I totally forget I am wearing it most of the time. -
Gall Stones After LapBand?
CheckYes replied to sisterwood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor hasn't suggested that either. -
What are you eating? Perhaps you don't have as much of a calorie deficit as you might think?
-
Watch out guys. My surgeon said no surgery if I wasn't wihmthin five pounds of the weight I was at my initial consult. A weight gain before surgery is not a good indicator to a doctor that you are ready. That being said, I wouldnt go nuts with food but if you feel like you need to have a "last meal" kind of thing.... Do it once for pizza, once for whatever. Just don't continually say goodbye from now until your surgery! Best wishes!

CheckYes replied to stratcat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Way more! Don't expect to only deal with weight loss though. Expect to dive in to everything that got you there in the first place. My therapist has become so much more to me than a sounding board. He is very important to my success. -

Bad enough not to eat solids on your liquid diet again. -
How to take crushed pills without tasting them?
CheckYes replied to kcharr77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I sprinkled mine onto a sugar free Popsicle. The first bite isn't great but the ick goes away fast.
