  1. I have read a few posts on this site concerning liquid Tylenol after surgery. Do you have trouble taking pills after surgery? Has everyone been able to take their prescriptions after surgery, or does the band cause problems with that? Does the band effect the medication getting into your system, or were you all able to take your meds as you did before. Thanks for any info.

    lap Band in Springfield Mo

I would love to hear what BCBS has to say. My husband's insurance at work is changing to BCBS in January. I was pretty much assuming that I would have to go with the self pay, but maybe not. If you don't mind sharing what you hear from them, I would be really interested. Best of luck on your decision.

    Why can't my husband understand????

Waitingtiljan, I am right there with you! I read your post and it was like my heart was being spelled out on the page. I have not had the courage to face the fact that I don't want to do anything, go anywhere, or be around people because I am embarressed about how I look. I am a stay at home mom also and have a four year old. For the past year I have been taking naps with her, just to make the day go by faster. I understand what you are saying on so many levels. Good luck with the seminar! I look forward to hearing how it goes. If you need to vent again, please email me, I really do understand. Thanks for being so honest.

    Just starting research

That is so good to hear that the surgery has helped your neck and back problems. I am basically living on pain meds and muscle relaxers. I had back surgery in 2001 and have since had 6 epidurals- nothing seems to help. It has been so difficult to keep weight off when you can't do much because of the pain. Everyone says "build your core", but that has been easier said then done. I want this surgery, if only to get the weight off for my back. I know that it would help many other things as well. Good to hear from a fellow back sufferer.
  6. Hello all! This is the first time I have posted on a message board, but I have already learned so much just from reading your posts. I am just beginning to research lap banding, my cousin was banded about 2 months ago. I have many reasons for looking into the lap band. I have PCOS, disc degeneration in my back, and high cholesterol. Right now the biggest question in my mind is.....do I need something so permanent??? I am an emotional eater and I don't see that changing. I look forward to talking with all of you!

    Just starting research

I need more soul searching for sure! I think that is part of the research process and I am just beginning it. It looks like you have had great success, but didn't you have questions and concerns in the beginning?

    lap Band in Springfield Mo

I wanted to see how the St. John's seminar went for the banders in Springfield. I live in Monett, about 30 miles west. I am trying to decide between having my surgery in Springfield or KC. I would love to hear your thoughts.
