Hi, My name is Andrea. I'm 27 years old, and very, very squishy. I have a 3 1/2 year old son. I used to be very athletic, and still attempt to play soccer every weekend.
I've struggled with my weight since 2003. I am at my heaviest weight, 215 pounds. I've worked out religiously for the past year, and yet have not been able to shed a single pound. One would think that playing soccer, and going to the gym, combined with a decent diet would be means of loosing; but not for me. Recently, my son made a comment to me stating that I was fat. I was hurt, but of course, not angry. It was just a simple observation of a 3 year old; but wow...
I've visited with my doctor recently, and I am being refered to a seminar and an appointment to see if I would benefit from this surgery. I've done lifestyle changes to improve myself, but the weight lingers.
I hope I can get more information and personal stories to help me in my decision.
My insurance covers 50% of the surgery. The financial burden would definately outweigh the way I feel today. I'm slightly depressed, uncomfortable, and unattractive. Is that typical for only 50% to be covered (in network)?
