I've struggled with weight my whole life. I was told when I was 8 years old that I had "rolls" and shouldn't by that age. Since then I've hated my body. About 3 years ago I started doing my research. Very little at first - I don't recommend this surgery to anyone who is just barely 21. The social aspect of this life change can be difficult to grasp when you're young. Originally I was looking into Gastric Bypass, but once I reviewed all of my options, Lap Band was the way to go for me. I'm very happy the commitment has been made and look forward to the change it will bring my life.
