Firstfill down....? more to go..... It all went well, I guess I already had 2.4 cc in the band so he added 1.6cc for a total of 4cc. It sounds like alot but I don't think I feel anything yet. I was surprised how easy it was for him to find my port. Thats a bonus I guess. Dame J, when did you say your fill was?? And do you have any restriction?? I know it's different for everyone, just curious.

I am in Edmonton, my builder is Pacesetter. I understand the whole labor shortage in Alberta and I guess I somewhat anticipated problems but it is nevertheless frustrating. I have to say I am happy with the overall work in the home I just wish it was finished! -
Thanks!

Hey Argon, would you mind telling me your workout schedule in terms of reps and stuff? I am impressed with the inches you have lost and that sounds like a doable workout schedule for me, thanks. It kind of sounds like the body for life workout, is that what you do?

I have my first fill tomorrow too! So I shouldn't expect much restriction then? I am so totally wide open right now. It is seriously tough not to eat larger portions, I can't wait till I get good restriction. Good luck Yasmina, and welcome home!

OMG Yoda I so know what you're going through. We moved into our new home on Jan 29th and we still have things that are not done, like some of the detailing on the outside of our house, the cupboards throughout the whole house and some little deficiencies that were supposed to be done before we moved in. I am so frustrated because I keep calling the builder, like once a week and they keep saying that the company responsible should be phoning me to come out and do it but nobody phones! Finally I contacted the superviser for the area and even he doesn't return my calls! I cannot believe this. I paid for this house in full and it should have been finished before I took possession. Now that I am moved in everybody seem s to be ignoring us. I seriously am thinkng about phoning a lawyer but I don't know if they will be able to do anything. It is soooooo incredibly frustrating. -
Thank you for this thread, I too am definately struggling. I am pre fill and starving and not making the healthiest food choices right now. I pray that I have the strength to follow the bandster rules. Yes. I will start fresh from this very moment on.

Welcome, welcome. welcome!! Leslielee I am from Edmonton, banded by Dr.Cobourn. There is a Dr here in Edmonton trained by Dr.Cobourn to do our fills, as well as Dr's in Calgary. Good luck and keep reading around here and asking, you'll find most of your answers.

Canadian Bandsters - what would have made it better?
becca77 replied to argon's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think for myself so far, being an out of province patient, more contact with the nurses in regards to phone calls. Also some support from a dietician. I guess I just expected more "montioring" on the whole after spending 16k. If it wasn't for this site I would definately be lost! Thanks for being here guys! -
Wow Heather, thats fantastic! Great job! What did you do in terms of excercise??
-
I cannot wait to get my first fill!!!!!! Unfortunately I couldn't get an appt till Apr.3 so I still have to tuff it out a little longer. I'm trying my best to not let old habits surface but it is taking a whole lot of strength I am soon to run out of.

Welcome Mr.Yoda! Great to see you on board.

So you guys, I hear a lot about people not being able to eat bread after being banded (and of course those who can with no problem). But those that can't, does this mean that you literally can't eat bread because of getting stuck or pb'ing? or does this mean that you can eat it but just don't feel good or comfortable after eating it? Just curious.

Yoda, what a feeling that must be, I have hope for myself! -
You are so not alone! The post op diet is definately the hardest and I'm sure we have all cheated. I know I definately have. Just get back to eating what you're supposed to and go from there. I just wanted to say you are brave for posting that because I'm sure there are many in the same boat, whether they will admit it on here or not. You're doing great.

All hormones should be checked.

The MRSA was not caused by your band, it is a hospital aqcuired infection. Sorry this happened to you. Take care of yourself.
-
Bandiva I know exactly what you mean. I love to excercise too but I can't understand what keeps me from doing it. I procrastinate and then feel guilty about it. Weird. You have done amazingly well so far. You should be very proud of yourself!

Banded, Confused, and Bummed Out...Should I Remove It?
becca77 replied to bbw1924's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I really feel for you because I have been there. Some really good therapy is definately necessay. You need to understand the issues that make you eat. Keep your band and work on the thereapy in the mean time. Good luck and don't ever feel like a failure. You are strong for reaching out and we are here to help. Keep us posted. -
Everybody heals differently, I was completely fine and back to work 3 days post op. Very slightly sore but no one could tell I just had surgery. I recovered from this surgery amazingly well, you might too! But have a back up plan available just in case.
