I was banded October 5, 2010 have lost 72 lbs and gained 6 lbs over the holidays. I have not had any problems since my surgery other then gaining 6 lbs which is not good. I have not had any fluids put in since my surgery so now I think it is time. I will be seeing my surgeon at the end of January 2012 for a fill before everything get out of control.

I am sorry your mom and other relatives did not have a good expierence with Dr. D he is who I have choose and surgery is tomorrow 11/5 my insurance is paying for surgery and fills but not sure how many fills but the doctor office business manager says not to worry.How much are the fills??? He is out of network and so far I am pleased with my financial obligation

This must be frustrating to you I know you dont want to hear this but the office must be extremly busy. Even when the office turn everything in BX dont get to it right away either. I know for a fact my doctors office sent all my paper work in as well as repeated phone calls to BX and it still took almost 3 months to get approved.

I too was told I have to have gallbladder rmoved first. Then the the lap band later. My lap band surgeon is going to do both surgeries but not at the same time . He said the risk of doing both at the same time might create a cross contamination that he is not willing to risk since the gallbladder is so close to the liver and close proximity of where the lap band will be sitting. Makes since to me

I heard there was a recall on the realize band

I am currently waiting for insurance approval for the lap band. I had a left hip replacement in 1998 and I remember my orthopaedic surgeon aways warned me about the importence of not getting an infection. Even when I have dental work I have to take 4-6 antibiotics a couple of hours prior to my procedure. I mentioned this to my lap band doctor which by the way has a lap band himself said I have nothing to worry about any comment on this would be useful.
