  1. My name is Lesia (pronounced Lisa), and I was banded on 8/20/10. I started this journey last year, but with my BMI (right at 39), I needed co-morbidities that I didn't have. So I dropped it. I looked into it again in Jun, went to the doctor;s seminar, scheduled a sleep study. I do have sleep apnea, but it isn;t bad enough, according to my insurance. Hubby and I talked and decided to do selfpay. I had my first appt with the doctor on 8/4, then back on 8/16 to schedule surgery for 8/20. I'm doing pretty good with the liquid part, but it sure is boring. My belly is still swollen, but the pain is way better today. Still taking it easy, though. I did read here a lot before deciding to do the surgery, you guys have lots of info, thanks.
  2. I agree, don't give up. I've just started this journey, but when I was having my teaching at the doctor's office before surgery, the nurse told me of 1 of their patients. He had had his band for 1 year and lost zero weight. But, he didn't follow their plan. She got him going again, getting the fills, going to appointments, support groups, etc, and he has now lost almost all his weight. So it is doable!!
  3. Hi all, I just got banded on 8/20 also, it was such a quick thing for me. I;m still bloated, but doing better. I told my anesthesiologist that I get nauseus (sp) after being put to sleep, so they put stuff in there at the very beginning. I did have 1 night fighting that sick feeling, but feel tons better today. broth, Jello, and tomato Soup are my friends. And coffee love my coffee!!! I hope you feel better.
