    What can I do?

Wendy's chili is really high in Protein and filling. Maybe if you chewed it up REALLY good it would go over okay in the mushy phase?!?

    Carbonated drinks

It's so different from doctor to doctor -- I just asked mine last week at my fill. He said that it's not going to hurt me or my band. However, it could make me feel like crap as I could get all gassy from the carbonation build up. Said it was up to me. I personaly think if it is in moderation it's okay.

    Portion size meals

I too was worried about eating more that I thought that I should -- it was taking me a little more than the 1/2 to 1 1/2 cups that people on here said they ate to get full. However I was still losing weight. I talked to the nurse at my dr and she said each person is different in their weight loss journey. Don't worry about what other people are eating or try to compare yourself. Everyone's metabolism is different and it takes different amounts of food. So as long as you're losing you're doing something right! Keep up the good work!
  5. Don't get too concerned --- your body is adjusting to the fact it just had surgery and the phases coming out of surgery (liquid, mushies, etc.) aren't good times to worry about your weight. I've read that it can take your body up to a month to adjust and start losing the weight. In the mean time, although it's hard to see the scale go up, know that once you even out, it WILL start doing in the right direction ... down down down!! Good luck!
  6. So glad you're feeling better! Good luck with the CT scan -- peace of mind means everything!!

    Scared to get hungry....

You're not being unreasonable at all. First of all, it's going to make you feel so much better to get an unfill and get back to the point where you can actually eat something without it coming back up. Of course you're going to be nervous about falling back into bad habits or getting those hunger pains ... we're all nervous. But as long as you stay on plan I know you'll be fine. Plan your meals and also your snacks to be full of protein to help you from feeling starved. Good luck!!
  8. I read all about this surgery before I had it done. My sister in law had great success with this surgery. I had high hopes. But here I am four months out and 56 pounds down from the start of my journey (including preop diet). Of course I'm eating less and I am making way healthier choices but it's still such a shock to me every week when I step on the scale! I always dread it -- you're not supposed to feel good getting on to a scale, at least I never did. But now I step on expecting defeat but can't do anything but smile when I see the number has gone down again! I don't know why I'm so surprised at this, but it's just such a good feeling knowing that something is finally working for me. I feel better. I look better. I'm more confident and healthier. All because of a little piece of plastic and a new outlook on life! Guess I just felt the need to share my wonderment and happiness with others!! Happy Holidays everyone!!

    It hurts when I cough

It will go away, but normal to worry about those things! Keep hanging in there -- it will get better soon!!
  10. Congratulations to you!! What a great achievement!!

    Happy Bandiversary!

Happy Bandiversary to you and to me -- we share the same surgery date! Looks like you're doing great! I'm at about the same 30 pounds lost since surgery. It's a good thing there are other people around ... I was in the same mindset as you as it's seeming like a slow weight loss but when you look at 10 pounds a month, that's great! Congrats to you and let's keep going on this great journey! :rolleyes2:
  12. I'm getting ready to go out for the night -- my friend is having a fashion show tonight so I want to look extra good! For the first time in I don't know how long, I liked the first outfit I tried on (unlike trying on 10 different options and finally giving up). Looking in the mirror I thought to myself, I actually look pretty good! Guess that's what 46.5 pounds and a better attitude about myself with do! Now off to enjoy the night!!

    Christmas Challenge

Thanks for posting this! The Halloween challenge was my first challenge as well and I loved having the accountability of checking in with everyone, as well as the motivation of the spreadsheet and seeing how great everyone else is doing! I've put in a big challenge for myself of 16 pounds before Christmas. I've had my third fill and believe I'm starting to feel restriction and it's great! My weigh-ins are on Wednesday am, and as of this morning I weighed 299.2 which FINALLY puts me below 300 pounds! 46.5 pounds gone since the start of my weight loss journey! I'm so happy and can't believe how much better I'm feeling! I'm starting to be able to do the things that I was hoping to do before I had surgery! So here we go for another challenge -- I'm hoping to incorporate more exercise into this challenge (another goal of mine). Good luck everyone!!
  16. I'm two months post-surgery and down a total of 36 pounds (including liquid diet). I've been doing fairly well but the last couple weeks, the weight is slowly creeping back on. I've had two fills and have my third tomorrow but feel like I'm still eating too much. Not NEARLY as much as I used to, but still too much in my mind for having a band. I'm hoping that I just haven't found the "sweet spot" yet. My thoughts are that when I get there, I physically won't be able to eat more. Am I thinking right? Just getting nervous that I'm starting to make some poor decisions regarding the amount of food and I don't want this to be another failed diet. Guess I'm just needing a little reassurance today as I'm worried about going in having put on weight to my doctor tomorrow. I really appreciate all the advice on this board -- it's great hearing positive stories every day!!
  17. Mine it's so terribly bad. It drove me nuts all day and all night. I contacted my doctor and they said it could be the tape they used, so I pulled the remaining steristrips off after about 10 days. Also, I got Benadryl spray that really helped with the itching. Good luck!

    Halloween Challenge

I'm in for my first challenge!! Put 8 pounds for my goal. I get my first fill on Wednesday ... sooo looking forward to some restriction! Thanks all for your support!
  19. Just want to say thanks for all the helpful info on here. I'm weighing myself weekly as to not get too dependent on the scale. My first week out of surgery I was down 12 pounds. This week though I started eating pureed foods and was up 1.6 pounds. I realize though that I'm still healing and that it's pretty normal to gain some weight when first introducing "real food" again and before I get my first fill. So thanks for staying so positive on here ... it's helping me get through the days!! )
