Nat - Good luck with the daycare stuff. I need to start exercising, I've been in a hotel in Detrot for the last 3 nights and only did the eliptical 2 time, I am such a slacker. I had sushi for lunch and it was so good, I was filled after 4 small pieces, before I could eat 10, and still be hungry. Kaydot - Great job on the weight loss, you are really working hard.

I can't get that video out of my head of the fill, I don't know who posted that link, but I no like that person anymore!! It is not a pretty sight, a needle hanging out of my fat belly!!
-
I agree sometimes the 1 cup fills me up and sometimes it is just enough. The carb thing is killing me, I am a carb whore, I love pasta, bread, anything with white flour, it is hard staying away from it, but if I can get over my caffeine addiction, I'm sure I can break this one also.
-
Hey Brandi - My first fill is on Thursday also, do you feel like you can eat alot more now since it has been a few weeks? I am so afraid of stretching my stomach, that I'm sote sure exactly how much to be eating. I'm looking forward to getting my fill so I am not so hungry again.
-
B-man - Sorry that you have had such a crappy time with this, Happy belated bday. Kristen - Can you send me the link for the Yahoo group also, thanks!
-
Sweethot - I was laughing by butt off with your comment about the jeans, I'm getting visuals! BK - We are all thinking about your Dad.

I agree with Kathy, and really everyone else, I feel like I am being watched with what I eat. Over Christmas we were at my in-laws for a few days, and of course they know I had surgery. My mother in law turns to me during Christmas dinner in front of everyone and asks me if I drank enough water during the day. Excuse me, I am 37 years old, I think I can remember to drink water. Before the surgery, I felt like I was being watched because I was heavy, and now I feel like am being watched for what I am allowed to eat and not allowed to eat. It is also so frustrating when people ask me how I have lost, now I just ignore their questions, and more on with the conversation. Enough to drive you batty!!
-
Steph - you look great!! I wish butt wasn't the size of a large shelf that you could serve a 10 course meal on. I bear the thought of taking a picture of my bubble butt until I lose another 30 lbs.!!
-
Hi Carol - I've done the same thing, everyone slips every once in awhile, think of all the sacrafices that you have made for the surgery and I'm sure you will do great. It is so hard when you go from liquids to mushies, you are so close to real food, it is hard to not eat stuff you shouldn't. I just feel lucky that I didn't get anything stuck when I did it, and try to learn from it. You can do this!!! You are already down almost 20 lbs! How long would that have taken to lose without the band??

Nat - your posts always make me crack up! I also fell off the treadmill once at the gym, unfortuntely it was the gym at work, so the people I work with for 8 hours each day, saw me fall off the treadmill. Someone said something to me, I got distracted, fell to my knees, and slid off the end of the tread mill. Needless to say not my most graceful act, I thought my husband was going to die of embarrsment when he saw me fall. I did get back on but I was mortified and my knees were so sore, as was my ego. For the record, I love this separate thread, it is much more positive, and honestly with the other thread I only read specific people's posts, it just got to be too much. Hope everyone has a great Sunday and good luck at all of the football parties, stay strong!!

Hey Kay - Nice Arse!!

Hey everyone - great to have this separate thread, the other one had so many topics flying around, I couldn't keep track. I am 1 month out of surgery and just started on some regular food. I had ground beef, little bit of cheese, okay alot of cheese and some salsa yesterday, no problems at all. My first fill is 1/18, the video almost made me puke, really wish I didn't watch it, but I guess it is better to know what to expect. My doc told me it was no big deal, guess he never had anyone show a needle in his fat stomach looking for a port to put more Fluid in. nat - You were not a bitch on the other page, not whining at all. You know we love you!

I agree with bk, my doctor told me that after my first fill I will really begin to see a change in our weight.
-
Hi NN - I was banded 12/6, and was just cleared for pureed food, tuna fish, yogurt, stuff like that. Don't beat yourself up about weight loss, everyone loses differently, and diff rates. It's important that you are working out and sticking to the diet that was recommended by your doctor.
-
BK- That sounds great to do the biggest loser at your gym, especially if you could win the 2500, why not? Do you like going to the gym better now that you are banded? I am starting to go again next week and feel different, does that make sense? Anyway, you should go for the contest, what a great motivator.

Welcome Eric, it is a great bunch of people on this thread, it has helped so much answering questions and making me feel like I am feeling "normal".
-
Beversman - Good luck with your surgery, you will do great. I am 2 weeks out and still on liquids, but it seems like all the stress and anxiety were for nothing. I am feeling great this week, it gets easier every day. I get to start on mushies next week, right after x-mas and I'm a little scared to eat which is probably a good thing. Everyone in my family has the stomach flu and I am so paranoid about getting something that will make me sick. So I am in the spare room and having my husband fend for himself at being sick. Steph - I agreed with B-man, I would be really careful with what you eat. I know it is so tempting since everyone else is eating, but it can make you sick. You have done such a great thing with the band, and I'm sure your family is just worried about you, although, like most men, don't know how to actually tell you that without it sounding like a lecture. Good luck with everything!
-
I keep seeing people mention mushies, and my doctor told me that I can be on pureed food in about a week, is there any difference in the food stages? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
-
hi Kristen - I go to normal food in a few weeks and I am so scared I am going to get an obstruction, my doc said no bread for a few months. Which really sucks!
-
Good Luck to all of the 12/20/07 bandsters. Beversman, only 2 more days for you good luck!! You always make me laugh!!
-
Nat - I like the idea about the journal, that is a great idea. I may start doing that also. Don't worry about the scale, if changes a lot over the next few days, weeks, and months. I had my surgery 12 days ago and I still don't crave food, it makes me sick to even look at it, especially when I'm cooking dinner that I can't eat. It gets better, I'm back to work and feel relatively normal. Good Luck.
-
Thanks for the ideas Kay, that helps!

Hello everyone - I went back to work today, okay, I tried to go back to work today, lasted about 6 hours and then came home to take a nap. I think I over did it, I am now on unpaid time so I'm trying not to miss too much work. Scheduled for a 1/2 day tomorrow, should be fine to go back after Monday. I am still on a liquid diet until 1/7/07, and it is killing me, I am really tired of protein drinks. Although I did solve the problem of wanting to chew something. I take a small bite of what ever I make for dinner, chew it for about 2 minutes and then spit it out. It's disgusting, but atleast it I can chew and feel better that I am eating something that I want.

Hello December bandsters - For those who have been banded, I have a sensitive question...anyone else having issues with "regularity". When should be expect to become more regular when we are on a full liquid diet? I am 1 week post-op this week and down 13 lbs, but have had no regularity and am concerned about that. Thanks - this is a very personal and sensitive topic.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
