congrats to all my fellow x-smokers! i'm new to the not smoking sections, but so far so good! i just woke up and decided that getting banded was more important to me than smoking (my doc requires 3 mos. of nicotine free pre surgery)...a week after i quit i went to the doc-he suggested wellbutrin which i think has helped! you're supposed to start taking it before you quit, but i didn't want to wait for my doctor appointment, so i just quit cold turkey till i made it to see him! i am doing great-it's just a little weird not lighting up with my classmates....but i love it! kudos to the odd man out!!! ~courtney

i live twenty minutes from mauston! i go there often! i also go that way to get to the outlet mall in the dells! it's a small world after all!
-
i can't help but think ''''god i love chocolate chip mint milkshakes'''''''...as far as the guy thing goes-i swear they have PMS as much if not more than women do! i know in my situation, when i feel better about myself, my husband and i get along better----maybe there's light at the end of the tunnel??? good luck to you and keep in touch!

:rose: :) thanks for the awesome smoking statistics---it's so weird how i just don't need to smoke! i love the cilia comment-my anatomy and physiology instructor used to yell at me as i was heading out the door to smoke that i was 'paralyzing my cilia' lol! it was the laugh for the day most days----haha! guess who's laughing now! i guess it's so much easier to deal with my nursing instructors who used to nag me daily about smoking! it's awesome! i'm calling them tomorrow re: my psych eval and am hoping to sweeten her up and having her put me on a cancellation list-maybe i'll get in sooner! i'm getting impatient---even though i know it's worth the wait, it would still be better if it was sooner! thanks for all the support! courtney:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

I've noticed that there's several different band 'sizes'. Is that different from the amount that you get when you get a 'fill'??? Just curious-my seminar is in a week and I'd like to be PREPARED!!!!!

omg! guess what! i just got off the phone with my bariatric center and she called to tell me that my insurance does not require a precertification phase-there's a 20,000 limit straight across the board! she said because i'm having the lapband and not the rny bypass surgery that the 20000 will cover everything (providing there's no complications)! so they're having a meeting wednesday to figure out how they're gonna work it out!! i'm just so excited and couldn't think of a better place to be happy! thank god for all of your support! i'm just hoping i'm not celebrating too soon....but who wouldn't! i'm jumping around my house and my dog thinks i've lost my mind! ok-i'll keep you posted! again-thanks so much for you!!!!! courtney:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

good afternoon lbters! so i was lying in bed last night thinking about all the information and support i've gotten on this site...and i started to wonder how many people have found this site before surgery, and how many people found it after being banded. needless to say, i had an ice cold diet coke before retiring, so my mind was quite alert! i thought i'd start a poll-how exciting!

lol! i have often wondered the same thing! i'd love to know what the big upset was that happened last year! i must have too much time on my hands-cuz sometimes it just drives me nuts that i don't know what happened!

:omg: i remember talking to a few of you re: bcbs anthem-if you want a lapband, you must have a bmi above 40, but below 50. i saw it somewhere and couldn't remember where i saw it....and here it is...right in the policy... BMI of 40 or greater, or BMI of 35 or greater with co-morbid conditions including, but not limited to, life threatening cardio-pulmonary problems (severe sleep apnea, Pickwickian syndrome and obesity related cardiomyopathy), severe diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease or hypertension. AND *Note: Individuals considering the laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (Lap-Band®) procedure must meet the above minimum BMI requirement and, in addition, have a maximum BMI of less than 50 :angry :angry :angry isn't that stupid? it's like they're saying..."if you're not fat enough, you can't have it. if you're fat you can't have it"....but of course they'd pay for the RNY at the drop of a hat!!! why is that? UGH UGH UGH!!!! now i hafta drop 20lbs before i can get the darned thing-easier said than done!

:heh: i'm so sorry----but i think i'm drinking more these days just cuz my doc says that it's not a food group and i don't need it! he said that i can drink it after banding if it doesn't bother me-but i'll probably be too scared to chance it! talk to you all soon! ~courtney -
