I went through band to sleeve revision on Tuesday. Now I have this heavy feeling dead center of my chest. It's not painful, doesn't interfere with breathing...just annoying. Have any of you experienced this? -

So the heaviness has turned into a sharp pulling pain...pretty sure it isn't gas. -
Glad to hear that. What did you over do? I decided I felt good enough to cook dinner for the kids, so I did. And then I cleaned up after dinner. I was pretty sore after being on my feet and up and down all day. Today is much better. I've been resting while they're all at school.

Over did it today and paying for it tonight. But other than that, not too bad at all.

I just did mine on Tuesday. I'm already down 20lbs from pre op diet. Just do everything the doctor suggests, and you'll do just fine!!!

I had surgery on Tuesday. My surgeon does clears in the hospital for two days, then you go home on full liquids for two weeks. Every doctor is different...

I was banded in September 2010. It's been all uphill since. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had a total thyroidectomy three months later. My weight loss has been slow, like at a turtle's pace. Then when I finally was down 50 lbs, I got pregnant. I had horrible morning sickness and was hospitalized for intractable nausea/vomiting. This was Nov 2012. At that point my dr removed all my fill. My son is now 7 months old, I still have no fill because I'm breastfeeding, however, I'm having issues with things getting stuck and vomiting again. I'm starting to have some serious "buyers remorse" and wishing I would NEVER have had this stupid band placed. Has anyone else had any experiences like mine? What happened with you and your band?

Having been a labor and delivery nurse for eleven years, I know how the supply/demand cycle works for milk production. My doctor was the one who refuses to do anything until I am done breastfeeding my son. She says the human body requires an additional 500 calories above what I need to provide HEALTHY, rich milk for the baby. So I'm pretty much stuck until he's done nursing. Thank you all for the words of encouragement and letting me vent. -

Not vomiting everyday, just now and then. At this point, I have no desire for fills because I refuse to compromise my milk supply. -
I have been taking Lo-estrin for BC and its giving me awful headaches. I have an appt on Tuesday with my gyn for a Mirena IUD. Has anyone used this before? What should I expect?

I had the exact same thing happen from a gallstone/morning sickness attack last week. After 2 ER visits, I was finally admitted for severe dehydration. I spent Wednesday night and most of Thanksgiving day in the hospital. Now, the dehydration and gallbladder issues have calmed down, I have this excruciating pain all around my port, like I have ripped the sutures loose. How long does it take for that pain to calm down? -

Being a bander and a labor/delivery nurse, I would say definitely lose the weight, then get pregnant...diabetes, hypertension and sleep apnea will all be exacerbated by pregnancy. Then you risk a hypoglycemic baby, and other problems with the pregnancy. Best wishes to you! -

No slippage or prolapse! Just mild acid reflux. Nothing a Prevacid a day can't cure. God is good! -
