    Death

this is definitely me. I have guilt about the money, the potential risks. I would hate for my friends and family to think I'm selfish, or that I didn't value my life. I think these are the kinds of things I'll be leaving in a note, rather than an actual will.
  2. That's really great. Would you mind posting a few of these videos? My boyfriend keeps making comments like "once you see how great you look you'll realize I'm not good enough for you" and I think we could both use some reassurance.

    Hospital Gowns

Are you crafty at all? I can't imagine they'd be difficult to make-- just some fabric, snaps at the shoulders, ties at the back? the above idea is a good one too. If you wanna get fancy I'd check out Etsy-- they have SUCH a cute selection. I totally love =tags&%3Bincludes[1]=title"]this one, can't bring myself to spend the money on it though.

I start my pre op diet tomorrow

congrats red! you're going great! from what I've seen a lot of it depends on your BMI -- the higher it is, the longer the pre-op diet. low BMI patients can get away with just a few days, but if you're over 40 it's more like a week.

    Ugh!!!!

    sweet! congrats!
  6. looks good! the only thing that still scares me is the anesthesia, that I won't be able to relax enough or somehow won't stay under. But that's largely just because I've never had surgery of any kind before. Damn these nerves! The drain removal looked a little ungainly to me too. Do they numb that area or do you feel a big tube sliding outta your abdomen? yech.

    Ugh!!!!

I know this is no help at all, but DUDE, THAT SUCKS. hahaha. sometimes I think we just need somebody kicking the wall with us. :frown1: I'm sure you'll be fine though! I know for me frustration is the best of my (few) workout motivations. Harness it, girl!
  8. Hi Anissa! Congrats, you're almost there! Where are you having your surgery? I've definitely had similar thoughts-- especially ones about "not waking up." My boyfriend actually had gastric bypass 2 years ago and I asked him how he dealt with those thoughts. He said "the way I saw it, I was already dying." It's morbid I know, but it made me feel better somehow. This isn't something small, it's not something you're doing lightly or flippantly. You're doing it to get a new life really, and I don't think anyone would be angry at you for that.
  9. Hi there!

Saw your post about having your sleeve done at Jerusalem. Congrats on your success! I'll be having mine done early next month :)

  10. Hello lovelies! I've been lurking these forums for quite some time in my research stages (I can definitely relate to the above "obsessed" posts!) and I thought I'd chime in with some support etc. I don't have a surgery date scheduled yet but I'm pretty sure I'll be going with Dr. Almanza/Ponce De Leon as well. Please be sure to keep us all updated on how your surgery goes! I can't tell you how indispensable the information here is, it's truly a blessing to hear from you ladies. Quick question -- I see Melissa's name has come up a few times, but I haven't seen the name "Mt. Zion Medical" come up yet, which is what I've been looking at. Is this the same thing? Clarification would be awesome!
