Plain and simple, I was tired of being fat. My starting weight before LB surgery was a whopping 247 pounds. I didn't want to do anything. I wore sweats all day long with big t-shirts. Shopping was horrible because I would start sweating right away and of course I'd walk out empty handed. All the clothes that did fit me looked like big drapes that you hang in front of the window with ugly patterns, resembling a moo-moo. The style of clothing at these plus-size stores did not match who I was inside. I decided to book my surgery at Hospital Angeles with Dr. Corvala on December 18, 2009  and here I am today. I am about 8 months post-op and I have a total loss of 48 pounds. I eat healthy, love exercising on the elliptical 4x a week and strength training at CURVES 3x a week and I feel like I am starting to rebuild confidence. The hardest thing for me is allowing myself to see the change. People say that when someone has been overweight for a long period of their lives, they don't see the changes that have been made. I still need to work on the mental part of weight loss and be proud of my accomplishments. I still have about 55-60 pounds left to lose and I am hoping I will see the change when I am closer to goal. (KEEP IN MIND THAT IN MY BEFORE PHOTO, I HAD ALREADY LOST A TOTAL OF 45 POUNDS. THIS PICTURE IS TAKEN MID-WAY OF MY WEIGHT-LOSS GOAL) *PRE-OP: 247 LBS. *AUGUST 2010:199 LBS (I REACHED ONDERLAND!!!) *ULTIMATE GOAL: 140 (STILL WORKING ON IT)
