Me, too! I got 4 cc's in my VG band. I really don't feel anything. My Dr. The past 2 weeks I have struggled to stay with the program. I hope this has the same effect as when I first got banded. My dr. will not give another fill for another 6 weeks.

I would say I had no restriction, but... Hubby and I went out for dinner to a favorite Italian place. I ordered Chicken ceasar salad. I was very hungry and ate --- one piece of bread, 1/4 of the chicken, a couple of bites of the ceasar salad. I also drank one glass of wine. All of a sudden, I was so full that I had to go to the ladies room and you can guess what happened to the dinner. I guess I under estimated my restriction and over estimated what I could eat. Another lovely learning experience!

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
PeaCeJ replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry if this is TMI, but I know that some will understand how good this is... I haven't moved the scale in over a week BUT.... My first NSV ...... I suddenly realized today that I can wipe my a** without the turning and twisting that I had to do for the last year or so. WOW! I guess the inches are starting to come off! -
bandida - you and I will have our fills on the same day. I can't wait!

Nursedeeva, What you are feeling is totally normal. Enjoy it while it lasts. Sometime within the next week, your feeling of fullness will probably go away and you will be very hungry. This too is normal and if you read through the January thread, you will see that most banders seem to go through this. I was banded on January 15. For the first week, I was not hungry and had to push myself to get the protein and water in. It is a whole different story now and I can't wait for my first fill on March 6.

I can't tell you all how good it is to hear that so many are struggling. I don't feel like I am failing again. Unfortunately, my appointment is not until March 6. That's almost 2 more weeks! Arghh!

Add me to the Tax Day Challenge. That is also the day I go on vacation to North Carolina. Put me down for 20 pounds. I get my first fill in March and that should help me with this goal. Current weight 338, Goal weight 318.

I was thinking, what a great incentive to go by stones instead of pounds. Instead of waiting for 50 pounds to celebrate the scale going to a lower notch, you could celebrate every 14 pounds and say neat things like "That's another stone I am not carrying around" or how about starting a rock garden and adding a special stone to commemorate loosing a stone. What a great visual that would be! Now to get out my calculator.....

This is what I really like about this board. No matter where you are, there is someone there right with you on the same stage of the journey. Doesn't make me any less hungry, but does make me less depressed.

Hi, All. Today is really hard. I am so hungry I could eat a horse. I am trying to drink water instead of eating, but it is not very satisfying. I have 4 more weeks til my first fill. Argh!

Kedasmom, I second everything you said. My grandson Daniel is two now, and I get out of breath thinking of him coming over! LOL This last summer he got a darling little sister and I need to get rid of some of this weight before there are two running around here! I want to be the fun grandma - not the tired old one sitting on the couch!

To everyone who feel they have no restriction: I was banded on the 15th. Felt a lot of restriction at first, then real hunger on the 5th day. Fought to stay on the 1000 calorie diet, but thought I did not have any restriction. Well, Today is my 31st wedding anniversary.:clap2: So we went into the city (AKA NYC to tourists) and saw a show (The Drowsy Chaperone, which was a lot of fun) and then stopped for dinner at a restaurant that we have not been to in years. Since I hadn't had lunch and thought I did not have any restriction, I ordered like my old self. I had one glass of wine when we sat down, ordered a second when the salads were delivered. I ate almost all of the salad and then my entree was delivered. I was only able to eat two of the chicken chunks and I burped and got the feeling that nothing else was going to fit in. I have enough left overs for 3 more meals of the same size, not to mention the mashed potatoes, which I did not even touch. Lessons learned: 1. I do have restriction, even if it is not as much as I would like. 2. Now it is evening, I am full, and because I skipped lunch I have not had enough protein today. I should never skip a meal. 3. There is a reason that the nutritionist says to eat your protein before anything else. I filled up on vegetables and then could not eat my protein. As the Pennsylvania Dutch say: Too soon old, too late smart.:biggrin1:
