The one in the white shirt is before surgery. The one in the blue shirt is about three weeks ago. I am still a little ways from my goal weight, but thought I would post some pics anyway. -
Before and After pictures of plastic surgery
Wonderwoman replied to Louisianagirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I am also hoping one day to get plastic surgery. I hope you get a lot of responses!! -
The week of surgery was hard for me. I was in a lot of pain the first few days. It is different for everyone though. I could not really stand up straight or get on high beds or anything. I was scared to eat anything for a long time. Slowly I regained my trust in food and learned what to eat and how much. No matter the amount of pain I went through I would do it all over again...it was well worth it!! The girl in the next room from me from surgery did not really have any pain at all. I think a lot of my pain came from the gas (or whatever it is) they blow you up with to do the surgery. It eventually worked it's way out and I started to feel better. I am not trying to scare you or anything it is just that when I had surgery I did not know what to expect and when I came out in pain I was suprised. I have had two c sections and a couple of other surgeries and this was the worst. It was tolerable pain though. REMEMBER IT WAS WORTH IT!!!!

Hi toqu...you and I were banded the exact same day. I am stuck on my weight loss, but I am finally getting a fill on Wednesday. Yeah!! I have been stuck for about two months, but my insurance (Aetna) is giving me a bunch of crap about paying my fills. They are 200 dollars so I have finally bit the big one and told them I would pay out of pocket. I feel like a drug addict needing there fix

Good luck!! I was very excited also when my time came so I know how you feel.

Welcome...I am from Abilene, Texas. Good luck I am glad you found this I have learned so much from this website!!

I had the same thoughts. I was crying and saying how could I cut off something that life revolves around. Everything my family does is around food...that's what got me overweight to begin with. But after a couple of weeks went by I was good and especially after I started to eat soft foods. You can eat all the normal stuff just in smaller portions. This was the best thing I could have ever done for myself. Give yourself time to adjust. Good luck!!

Good luck..I am from Texas also from Abilene. I am sure no one around this web site has been here... Anyway, I got banded about 5 months ago and it was the best thing I have done for myself. Best of luck!!

Hello from Maryland. Not banded yet.
Wonderwoman replied to Nancy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Nancy, I have had a great experience so far. I LOVE my band!!! I have lost a total of 57 pounds. I have about 40-50 more before I get cosmetic surgery. I am doing very well. My surgery went ok I had to stay overnight due to breathing complications...not due to the band but from all the medication. It took about a week to get back to work. I won't lie it hurt pretty bad. I am not a baby either I have had 2 c sections and a hysterectomy and to me this was the worse surgery yet. Don't worry though for about 3 days I was in pain but it was well worth it. It I had to do it all over again I would. Everyone is different though another girl got surgery the same day as me and she got to go home and had only mild pain. Any other questions just ask! Good luck!!! -
Thanks to all...everyone in here is very encouraging!! Purtynailz I am also sorry to here about your mother in law. 44 lbs. is still alot you are doing awesome!!

Hi fellow October bandsters...I have finally gotten a new computer and will be on more. My computer was a goner right before I got my band and I had been using my parents to ask questions off and on. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone more now that I can read and "talk" on a more frequent bases. Well, I have lost a total of 53 pounds now and I will be putting pictures on pretty soon. I can really tell a big difference which is great!! I know my ticker is a little off but I will fix it soon enough. I do have a question for ya'll though do you guys ever get a fill and think it is going to be the one and last for a while but about two weeks later you are eating the same again. About two weeks ago I got filled and I have lost 11 pounds since then but I am just starting to be able to eat just like I was before I got it. I still can't eat very much but it is still annoying to think I will have to get another one sooner than I thought I would.

Thanks soniacan. I will have to really pay attention when I am eating. I already miss not being able to gulp the water:) You are right there with 39.5 pds lost that is GREAT!!

Hey guys it has been a long time since I have posted. A matter of fact I usually just read I have only posted a couple of times. My ticker is off I have now lost a total of 47 pounds!!! I had my second fill yesterday and it was really strange. I could not even really drink all my water and had to stop and sit a while before it all went down. I am still having a pain everytime I drink anything. I have only been able to eat creamy soup and water. I must have major restriction because I have never really felt like this before. I just feel like I have to drink really really slow and wait for it to go down. Is this normal or have any of you guys experienced this before? My doctor said to stay on liquids a week if needed and just be sure I am able to keep things down...I have not had any problems with anything coming up just a little pain.
-
Toqu, Sorry, I have not been on for a while. I have now lost a total of 29 pounds.(I know my ticker is not up to date) I went to the Dr. yesterday and he said all was good and that I did not have to come back until March unless I felt I needed a fill. I still have not had one yet. My diet is simple...I eat one pkg of instant oatmeal for breakfast. I have a couple of cups of coffee with splenda or sweet n' low. Lunch is usually about 6 wheat crackers with chicken salad and about 15 baked cheetos. Dinner is whatever I cook...like chicken tacos but instead of the taco shell I do everything else with low fat ranch. Or I might order pizza and just eat about half of one and the topping of the rest of it. I am going to continue as I am and hopefully I will continue to lose. I also have purchased an elliptical machine and workout about 25 - 30 minutes 5 days a week on it. Hope this helps.

I'm still in the research stage!
Wonderwoman replied to bsimoes's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I decided to have it at the end of July and my insurance approved me the first week of October. I had surgery October 31st. Mt doctor told be to be prepared to wait a very long time to get approved but I was blessed and got approved rather quickly. I had to do a psych evaluation and see a nutritionist & walla I was approved!!! It went by really quickly. -
Great Job!! Keep up the good work!

FoOoa my experience was very painful. I had surgery on a Tuesday and went back to half days for a week on the following Monday. I have had 2 c sections and a hysterectomy and this was the worse surgery yet. I have to tell you though this is the best thing I have done. I LOVE my band. If you would have asked me 2 days after surgery I would not of answered the question but after about 4 days I was feeling alot better. I am so happy I have lost a total of 28 pounds. ( I have not updated my clicker) I can fit into things I have not worn in over a year!! Everyone is different though. There was a girl that had the surgery right before me in the hospital and only felt a little discomfort. As for my experience with it now I am sooooo happy I did this!! The pain I had was well worth it. Good luck!!

OMG, I want to CHEAT! Surgery on Tues.
Wonderwoman replied to itsuptome's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hang in there itsuptome. I know it must be really hard. I only had to not eat anything the day before surgery. I was on liquid for 24 hours prior & that was rough. I can't imagine for that many days. You have gone this far though and before you know it your day will be here!! Good luck! -
Thanks! You are also doing really well.
