    Worth the read

This was very interesting. I'm glad that I read it. I am newly banded and have been struggeling with what I should be eating and how much. Lately it has been hard for me to want to eat, I have been eating two meals a day. I don't measure but I stop eating when it is gone and nothing else or until I feel like I don't need anymore. I haven't really been eating a consistant three meals a day because usually I don't feel very hungry or if I do, food just doesn't seem too appealing to me. I haven't had my first fill yet but I go for it on monday. I think that I need to start measuring what I am eating because I have been eating more than recommended but not over eating, I never eat till I feel full or uncomfortable. For example, for breakfeast I will eat 2 eggs as an omlet with 1/3 cup shredded cheese and maybe one piece of bacon. Does that seem reasonable, or too much? I always feel satisfied after this most times I won't be hungry again till dinner.

    Low carb???

OK so i'm about 5 weeks post op and i'm not sure if i'm eating right. I talked to the nurse last week and she said low carb and high protien, so thats what i have been doing. Seems like i am losing about a pound a week which i would like to be losing a little more than that. I do some exercise, mostly cardio...the biggest loser video but it's hard to stay on a normal routine with it because i hate it, but know it's important. So anyhow, how often should i be working out? How many carbs do you eat daily? What about fat? A lot of stuff that has no carbs and more protien seems to have more fat! I did the atkins diet about 5 years ago and lost 30 pounds in 2 months but gained it back plus some so I dont want this to be a repeat! Oh and one other thing...in my smallest cut, where they put in the scope...there are white stitches haning out. It's not sore or infected but what the heck, should i be concerned about this? starting weight- 226 weight after 6 months diet with pcp-220 pre op diet-208 post op visit-206 current weight-202

Dr. Ramesh Ramanathan - Anybody else?

I was banded by dr. ramanathen on sept. 13 2010....doing alright i guess other than dealing with not having a fill yet...my first fill is oct. 25...cant wait! The doctor and everyone else i have talked to at magee's are very nice. My surgery went pretty well, pain was gone within a week and somehow I lucked out with only having two insicions! Anyhow goodluck to you both!
  7. Hello all! I went through six months of weigh ins with my pcp starting in feb, my paperwork was submitted to my insurance august 6th and my surgery date is september 13th! I'm still a bit nervous but i suppose that is to be expected, although i am ready to make a change in my life! I look forward to being able to talk with people that are going through this process with me! I dont have alot of support through family and friends so I hope that i can find that here and share with everyone! Here we go everyone...we can do it!

    Newbie

well hmm where to start? I got the approval for the lap band surgery and my surgery date is 9-13-10! super excited to start a new beginning for myself. I dont have a lot of support through friends and family so i'm here in hopes that i can make some friends and get advice from people going through the same surgery as me! A little about myself...I'm 24 218lbs and 5'1. I have struggled with my weight for as long as i can remember. I have two daughters ages 3 and 4. I'm not too good on the info stuff haha, so if anyone has any questions or wants to know about me its just better to ask. Would be nice to find someone that is having surgery around the same time as me so i have someone i can compare with. Well hope to hear from someone soon! thanks! Jessica
