    Bread?

I eat bread, with no problem. Everyone is different though... Can't hurt to try it, you should experiment. Like others have said, bread just is kind of filler... so if I can avoid it, then thats good. But I do have like an english muffin or a piece of toast with breakfast.

    How big are your bites?

I eat fairly normal size bites, and don't get stuck. I eat with a baby fork and spoon at home...it's different for everyone! For me, I try to eat smaller bites to enjoy my small meal more, but I don't have any stuck issues. I would just say you don't want to mash it up too small because then it'll just slide right through..
  3. My first fill was that much. I felt totally weird for a few days! Like the food would never pass through or something haha. But then it stopped, and then maybe a week or two later my hunger was completely gone!
  4. it's a pain! I skipped right over 18 apparently.. I bought some 16's yesterday I wish I could wear dresses all the time instead haha, but my legs are ugly. Then it should be time for a fill if you can't go 4-5 hours without being hungry.. maybe give it sometime and see.. if you said it just started. Also are you eating enough to keep you full?

    avoid caffeine/ and carbonation

Well.. I was told caffeine stimulates appetite so it's good to stay away from it. But I don't see any physical reason you can't have it. Soda I would imagine would make you feel icky... and bloated. I already feel like I drank a lot of soda because of all the gas, I can imagine it would be terribly uncomfortable. I never drank coffee anyways.. it was always soda.

    Hair loss?

I've been losing mine for a few weeks, I was banded 4 months ago. I have a TON of hair, so it's not that noticeable, but it's normal...

    Does this Sound Right?

For me, my mind isn't satisfied with 6 bites of food... Also I can't see how we would be getting proper nutrition from 6 bites of food you know? I probably could eat much much less and still not be hungry though. But it about calories to some degree, if you are eating 300-400 calorie meals, high in protein every 4 or 5 hours you shouldn't be hungry. But if you can eat a lot, you need something lower calorie that is larger to satisfy your appetite. If I ate 6 bites of anything but like pure protein, I'd be hungry in less than 5 hours. Yea me too. I'm thinking this whole process must be insanely different for each person. Or everyone reacts differently to it.

    FULL AT LAST!!!!

That's great @Irishlapbandgirl 900-1200 calories a day, and at least 60grams of Protein a day. It doesn't matter if you do low carb or whatever, people chose to do those things by choice. Your diet is #1, if you don't follow it you won't lose weight, the band is just there to help you from being hungry.

    had my first fill

The fills take a couple of weeks to fully take effect. Just monitor your hunger level and see if it decreases. For me, I had my first fill of 5.5ccs, I felt about the same, then a few weeks later my hunger was gone, almost completely. Also if you had a really small fill.. like 1 or 2ccs you may not feel anything.. but it takes a while for your body to figure it all out.

    Does this Sound Right?

It's different for everyone! Some people eat a lot, some eat very very little. I eat typically a cup to two cups of food per meal. You are looking to be able to go 4 or 5 hours without hunger. It's not really about how much you eat. Mainly it's just important to watch your calories keep it at 900-1200 a day.. I can certainly tell you chicken strips, ribs, french fries and bacon are not part of a healthy diet... It's important to get nutritious things in when you eat so little.

    Your Lap-Band and Dating....

LOL exactly. I don't know about everyone else, but I eat fairly normally at meal times, it's not like I eat 2 bites of food. I eat a meal.. I eat what I can. It doesn't look like I'm eating nothing. If you are worried just have Soup or something, or say something.. I probably would say something. It's something they are going to have to accept if they want to date you.

    Oh Mushies....

You shouldn't gain it back, though when you start transitioning into food you may gain a couple or pounds, or not lose. But don't worry it's normal, your body is readjusting to food. You've lost 41lbs in a week? or 41lbs since January? You don't feel better already after 10 day? Can you get up and go out and do things? I know being on liquids sucks, but physically you should be able to do that by day 4 or 5. You should feel better once you can eat some food. The only main rule is follow a 900-1200 calorie diet, and get in as much protein as possible, that helps keep you full. Some people do low carb..whatever works for you. It should get easier after you start getting filled, and your hunger goes away.

    6 months of supervised diet?

If you have a PPO you probably don't have to. But that is what you have to do with the band.. or you won't lose weight, so I guess it's preparation. I think they know you won't stick to it, but they want you to try, and to lose SOME weight.

bloating swelling 2 days post op

all normal, any pain not in your stomach is from gas they use to blow up your stomach during surgery. Everything settles down after 3-4 days

    salads

I eat them, but I try not too.. it's not very filling, and any salad with good things on it, and good dressing can have 1500 calories. But I don't think anything on a salad would make me sick.
  16. That's soo fast!! congrats mandy! Hope you feel better though!

    Surgeon setting goal weight??

I never had that.. I think they want you to make your own. But it's kind of implied to reach a BMI where you are healthy.

    protein and carbs

Some people do, some don't. I don't do low carb. BUT you need to get your protein in first and formost, if you can eat carbs too, go ahead. Some people find they lose more weight on a low carb diet.
  19. I think it could help.. I'm just not sure. How are they going to mentally tell me to stop eating.. I mean for me, I just like food.. I don't think I'm hiding anything, and I didn't have a traumatic event in my life that caused my weight gain. I mean I think I can get through it myself. But if you feel you need it, go for it!
  20. Nice! I know I've been saying that. It helped me a lot after surgery. It just feels good
  21. No, but I know it's up to me how much I lose, if I give up it's my fault, not my bands... I do understand exactly why people can't reach their goals. They can't get over the food addiction.

Supposed to fly 3 days after 1st fill

It doesn't make a difference... i flew a few weeks ago, and ate didn't have a problem. It's a myth.
  23. Same Vicky !I I have to buy pants for every job interview I have. It's crazy.. I'm a pear too, hard to find any that fit properly! I've given up on lane bryant's pants hopefully I won't have to shop there anymore soon!
  24. I would say don't focus on your fills so much, just evaluate your body and see what it's saying. My doc didn't even want to tell me how much he put in, he said don't worry about that, just follow your diet. I think people are too focused on the amount in there, when there isn't a set answer.
